Dear members of the St. Cyril of Alexandria Community,

The nation has been turned upside down since the atrocious death of George Floyd last week, and the riots that have also

caused more senseless suffering and death; we grapple with the reality of injustice that faces so many Americans every day. Within our St. Cyril parish, many have reached out to us and expressed a variety of opinions, feelings, and emotions.

I want to make it clear that as Roman Catholics we have a responsibility to fight every injustice towards humanity - and this includes the sin of racism.

Our parish mission statement is “Transforming Cultural Catholics Into Intentional Disciples”. As Intentional Disciples, in our multi-cultural parish community, we take to heart the words of St. Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians.

“The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.”

1st Corinthians 10:16-17

As a parish family, ponder the words "...we who are many are one body" Let us pray that as a community we remember that if any part of the Body of Christ is hurting, we are all hurting.

Estimados miembros de la comunidad de San Cirilo de Alejandría,

La nación ha quedado en desventura desde la atroz muerte de George Floyd la semana pasada, al igual que los disturbios que también han causado más sufrimiento y muerte sin sentido; Todos los

días los estadounidenses estamos lidiando y enfrentando a una realidad de injusticia. Dentro de nuestra parroquia de San Cirilo, varias personas nos han contactado y expresado una variedad de opiniones, sentimientos y emociones.

Quiero dejar en claro que, como católicos romanos, tenemos la responsabilidad de luchar contra todas las injusticias hacia la humanidad, y esto incluye el pecado del racismo.

Nuestra misión parroquial es "Transformar católicos culturales en discípulos intencionales". Como Discípulos Intencionales, en nuestra comunidad parroquial multicultural, hemos tomado en serio las palabras de San Pablo en su primera carta a los Corintios.

“La copa de bendición que bendecimos, ¿no es la comunión de la sangre de Cristo? El pan que partimos, ¿no es la comunión del cuerpo de Cristo? Siendo uno solo el pan, nosotros, con ser muchos, somos un cuerpo; pues todos participamos de aquel mismo pan”. 1era. de Corintios 10: 16-17

Como familia parroquial, medite las palabras "... nosotros, que somos muchos, somos un solo cuerpo". Oremos para que, como comunidad, recordemos que si alguna parte del Cuerpo de Cristo está sufriendo, todos estamos lastimados.

Prayer to Overcome Racism Mary, friend and mother to all, through your Son, God has found a way to unite himself to every human being, called to be one people, sisters

and brothers to each other. We ask for your help in calling on your Son, seeking forgiveness for the

times when we have failed to love and respect one another. We ask for your help in obtaining from your Son the grace we need to

overcome the evil of racism and to build a just society. We ask for your help in following your Son, so that prejudice and

animosity will no longer infect our minds or hearts but will be replaced with a love that respects the dignity of each person.

Mother of the Church, the Spirit of your Son Jesus warms our hearts: pray for us. Amen

St. Cyril of Alexandria - Reopening for Sunday Masses on June 7

EVERY PERSON MUST WEAR A MASK (FACE COVERING) – REGARDLESS OF AGE.

You are reminded to follow CDC recommendations regarding your own health. If you fall into an "at risk" category, if you are not feeling well or you are uncomfortable being in

public please stay home and join us for Mass by Live Stream on Facebook.

General Instructions • If you fall into an "at risk" category, please stay home and join us by Live Stream. • All those who are sick, have a cough or fever are asked to stay home until they are well. • A . E – . • The Nursery is closed. The Community Center is closed. The Courtyard is closed. • All Masses will be held in the Church on a First Come basis. • For Phase 1 - No More than 200 people may attend. This will be Strictly Enforced. • Social distancing is to be observed (6 ft. separation for non-family members). • Only one person will be allowed in each restroom at a time. Wash hands for 20 seconds before returning to your

seat.

Arrival Procedures • A . E – . • Masks should be worn as soon as you exit your vehicle. Masks are in Church. • ONLY the main doors of the Church – Rogerdale Entrance will open 30 minutes prior to the start of Mass. • Hand sanitizer will be available to all coming in and out of the church building for Mass • Our parish staff or Volunteer Team will seat your household similar to boarding an airplane. • The church will be seated to fill the open pews from front to back. Every other pew will be closed off! • You may be sharing a pew with another household, but social distance is required between the households (6ft). • There will be no seating in the Narthex or Chapel during Masses.

Mass Procedures • Communion will be distributed by clergy only. • Parish staff or Designated Volunteer Team Members will serve as ushers until further notice. • Please keep your face mask on for the duration of Mass. • There is to be no physical contact between different households at the Sign of Peace or hand holding during the

Lord's Prayer.

Communion Procedures • Cardinal DiNardo has mandated that communion not be offered on the tongue under any circumstance for

the time being. ONLY in the Hand! • Only the Body of Christ will be distributed. • Use of personal hand sanitizer before communion is strongly encouraged. • Remain in your pews until an Usher directs you to the aisle. Social distance is required between the different

households (6 ft.) • Masks must be worn in the communion line. After the priest offers you communion please step to the side,

remove your mask, consume the Eucharist and then re-mask as you head back to your pew.

Departure Procedures • After the final blessing, parishioners must remain in their pew. • Pews will be dismissed in an orderly fashion starting in the rear of the church and then moving forward. This will

be similar to how you exit an airplane. • You must exit your pew when prompted. Personal prayer is not available after Evening Masses during weekdays • You can drop your weekly offertory in baskets as you depart. • Priests & Deacons will not shake hands in the Narthex. They will wave to you at the end of Mass. • Please do not congregate outside but head directly to your vehicle. Maintain Social Distance between households.

misa. • Nuestro personal parroquial y el equipo de voluntarios lo acompañara a su asiento. Sera similar a cuando aborda

un avión. • Los asientos dentro del Santuario se asignaran a las personas del frente hacia atrás con una banca de por medio que

permanecerá desocupada. • Usted puede estar compartiendo el asiento con otra familia, pero se le pedirá los 6 pies de la distancia requerida. • No estará disponible el área del Nártex o la Capilla durante la celebración de la misa.

Procedimientos durante la Misa • La Comunión será distribuida solamente por el Sacerdote y/o Diacono. • El personal parroquial y los voluntarios asignados serán los que servirán como ujieres hasta nuevo aviso. • Favor de mantener su cubre boca en todo momento durante la duración de la misa. • No debe de haber contacto físico entre los miembros de una familia u otra durante el signo de la Paz o durante la

Procedimiento durante la Comunión • El Cardinal DiNardo ha ordenado que por el momento y bajo ninguna circunstancia, se ofrecerá la comunión en la

lengua. SOLAMENTE en la mano! • Solo se ofrecerá a los feligreses el Cuerpo de Cristo. • Se recomienda estrictamente que use su desinfectante personal antes de acercarse a la comunión. • Manténgase en su asiento hasta que el ujier lo dirija hacia el pasillo. Se requiere distancia social entre las diferentes

familias. (6 pies). • Debe usar su cubre boca en la línea de la comunión. Después de recibir del sacerdote la comunión, favor de dar un

paso hacia el lado, remover su cubre boca y consumir la hostia y de nuevo cubrirse con su cubre boca para regresar a su asiento.

Procedimiento de Salida • Después de la bendición final todos los feligreses se mantendrán es su asiento. • Serán guiados de manera ordenada, iniciando de la parte trasera y moviéndose hacia el frente. Similar a cuando sale
