HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Dana DeLong, who will be 88 on Friday, July 25.

Food Bank is Next Weekend (July 26 & 27) Now that Summer is officially here, the kids are out of school for the next few months. Think Piece

Let's think for a few moments about what the most valuable thing at Trinity is. Well, of course, it's a staff member or pastor who does ‘whiz-bang’ stuff that everybody says "wow" about. Nope. Not for me.

Well, it's someone who gives big bucks to the general fund. Oh how I love that! But most valuable? Nope, not for me.

What is the most valuable thing at Trinity? A member who brings a friend or neighbor to church with them and helps them become part of the faith. That is the absolute bottom line. Staff members don't know your friends and neighbors. And those friends wouldn't come to church if we asked them anyway. Who are we to them?

But you are their friend. And what you say counts with them. And when you invite they take it seriously.

So, when you see a member who has a friend with them at church, say a quiet prayer of thanksgiving. And think to yourself, "I could do that." And then, give it a try. You'll end up giving that friend the gift of salvation and also can be aware that you are the most valuable thing we have going at Trinity.

In Christ,

Pastor Mitchell

TST FARM TOUR & FIELD DAYS Many of you may recall one of the most memorable and successful events in TST’s history. A few years ago, we invited you all to come out to local entrepreneur Ben Ferguson’s upscale Deer Farm, as well as fellow outdoorsmen Andy McClure’s Animal Menagerie. They are two very different sorts of venues. And yet, they make for an intriguing Sunday afternoon family adventure. Set aside Sunday afternoon, July 27, on your calendars. Then, be watching over the next few weeks as we will share more specifics as to times, directions and details. Once again, if you were not with us a few years ago, going out to Ben as well as Andy’s places is an experience you won’t want to miss. It’s hard to believe we have these kinds of places in our own backyard! In addition, the weekend before is another neat opportunity for the families of Trinity. An event that has been gaining momentum in the area over the last few years is the Ashland Men’s Field Day. In the vein of the Ashland Conservation Farm’s annual Kids’ Day, this event on Saturday, July 19, will start with check-in after 9 am at the Cooke Family Wildlife Conservation Area, 4774 St. Rt. 13, Mansfield. Then from 10-3 pm there will be fishing, archery, trap shooting, radio-control planes, free food, and a free gift for each child from Fin, Feather & Fur Outfitters. There are some age restrictions on some of the events. We have necessary registration forms and free tickets in the church office. So, just stop by ASAP and pick up your forms & tickets.

A huge thanks goes to all who contributed to the Ethiopia Stu-dent Scholarship Fund. Enough money to support 21 deserving Kerayu students, who could not otherwise attend school, has been sent to Ethiopia, and soon spon-sors will receive information and photos of the students they are sponsoring. The fund is closed for now, but if everything goes well, we will open it again in the spring for the following school year. Aster Gudina, our contact in Ethiopia, wrote this week, "We are blessed to have people like you on our side who share our vision of supporting the most neglected people of our country. May God bless all you do on behalf of the poor." And we are blessed to have Aster and her hard-working and dedicated team to facilitate this for us.

The Altar Guild Flower Committee would like to request plastic or metal coffee cans. The Folgers green cans are able to be used as is; however, the red ones are perfectly acceptable as they can be painted. We also gladly accept any other type of metal one-pound coffee cans. Thank you!

Trinity Travelers On Friday, July 25, we are visiting P. Graham Dunn in Dalton, the heart of Amish Country, for their annual “Customer Appreciation Sale” and then on to The Barn Restaurant in Smithville for a delicious lunch buf-fet. After lunch we will head for the Ohio Light Opera at Wooster College to see the matinee performance Dream City and The Magic Knight. After the performance, we will make a stop at one of Wooster’s fine res-taurants for dinner. Total cost of the tickets is $68.00 and does not include dinner. We will depart from Trin-ity’s parking lot at 7:45 am and arrive back in Ashland between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm. The sign-up sheet is on the Trinity Traveler bulletin board next to the church library and deadline for registration is Monday, July 21. Please join us for more fun and fellowship.

Bob Evans will be sponsoring another fundraiser for Kylie Kandel. It will run July 20-27. Use the enclosed flyer, or simply tell them you are there for Kylie. Your support of this project is appreciated.
