4 AWARDS, Just for You!Awards are a beloved Girl Scout tradition! On this journey, as you explore stories and their clues, you’ll earn important awards. When you add your awards to your Brownie vest, you’ll feel proud and confident!
Your awards will remind you of all the fun you have on this journey. They will remind you of how you . . .
And all together, they will remind
you of how you made a change toward a
Better World for Girls!
Your awards will remind you of how you’ve grown as a leader who teaches and inspires others and makes the world a better place. Your awards will also remind you of the story of your journey. By sharing the story of your journey, you can inspire others to make the world better, too.
Hear a Story Change a Story and Tell a Story.

MORE PASSPORT FUN WITH STORIES!
Before you close, look back with the girls at all the ways they’ve learned that stories can be told: through games, a “passport,” storybooks, maps, and even treats. Do they want to add any more stories, or ways of telling stories, to their Team Passport? Encourage Brownies to have fun continuing to think about stories! Ask them to think about girl characters they know from movies, TV shows, books, cartoons, or other sources. Any thoughts they bring back to their next gathering will help with the journey’s many story-related activities.

Closing Ceremony: A Great Place! To underscore the storytelling theme of this journey, invite the girls
to have some fun with the following poem, clapping and reaching out or
pointing with their hands to match the words they are saying. They can stand
together and each say a line from the poem, repeating all lines until everyone
has had a turn. Or they can say the remaining lines in unison, and make up
their own gestures.
Our journey began today
We reached into worlds faraway
We’ll reach even farther
On our adventure to come
As we hear stories about girls
Read stories about girls
And share stories about girls
Like you, and you, and you, and me!
Our world of girls is a great place to be!

Jordan’s Refreshments
Bring out the hummus and pita bread (along with the cut-
up vegetables for dipping), and let the girls know that these are
foods eaten in Jordan. If the girls (like the Brownies in the story) have
never tasted a fig, have them try one, or a Fig Newton. Get them talking
about the cookie’s fig “jam” filling and let them know that Fig Newtons were
named for the town of Newton, Massachusetts. While they enjoy their
snack, they might like to think up treats based on street names, the
name of their school, or names of nearby towns.
