Big News! We're Breaking Ground! Lehigh Valley Zoo is extremely excited to announce a very special ground breaking ceremony and press conference on Monday, July 18th at 10:30 am! This ceremony marks the beginning of the construction process for our giraffe barn - the new home for two Masai giraffes that will be arriving in the Lehigh Valley this Fall! The general public is welcome to attend this event with paid admission. Weekend Events at Lehigh Valley Zoo Join us for our Farm Fest Celebration this Saturday at the Zoo We're celebrating the agricultural industry and our own farm animals this Saturday, July 16th! Join us for lots of family fun. Some of our scheduled events include: Animal Ambassador Encounters at 10 am and 2 pm Learn about agriculture from local farmers who will also have a wide variety of farm fresh produce available for purchase Take a look at some farm tractors Wonders of Wildlife Encounters at 11:30 am and 1 pm After 2 pm - keep an eye out for some of our farm animals who will be out walking around the Zoo! Don't Miss our Pokéstops and Gyms During your Zoo Visit! Did you know? Lehigh Valley Zoo is a great place to play Pokémon Go. We are home to multiple Pokéstops and two gyms. Come and visit our animals, and bring your game with you! Sunday is World Snake Day Come visit the Zoo to celebrate our scaly friends and stay for a special venomous snake talk at 2 pm! Come on an adventure through jungles, mountains, forests and savannahs to discover where and how different animals survive in the wild. Campers will learn about different species through animal encounters, nature hikes, interactive games, crafts, zoo tours, and a creek study. Run Wild at Lehigh Valley Zoo 10K, 5K, 1-Mile Smart FUN Family Walk Sunday, August 14, 2016 8:00 AM – 5K & 10K Run 9:50 AM – One Mile Family Fun Walk Lehigh Valley Zoo’s seventh annual Run Wild takes participants on a mad dash through the picturesque Trexler Nature Preserve and Lehigh Valley Zoo. You can sponsor three children for $90 or sponsor five children for $150. The "ADOPT A Giraffe," which includes a plush giraffe, one child's Zoo pass and a Zoo campaign sticker, will go to a child upon release from the Children's' Surgery Center and the funds will support the Zoo's Capital Campaign to bring giraffe to the Zoo in 2016.
