Visual Arts Opening and
Awards Reception
National Gallery of
Jamaica
The annual National Visual Arts Competition & Exhibition
features entries in photography, sculpture, painting, drawings, fine
arts and attracts participations from adults and youth, professionals
and amateurs. For the past five years it is stage as a joint initiative
between the JCDC and the National Gallery of Jamaica. The
exhibition will remain opened for the period (July 9 – August 11).

It features traditional foods, music and dance. A family

The Western Jamaica Independence Celebrations is a Gala affair
with several segments that brings colour and vibrancy to the
second city – Montego Bay. Dances, parades of uniformed groups,
marching bands and a major concert featuring local and
international Reggae artistes are but a few of the many exciting
features. In 2011 the Western Gala attracted over 20,000 patrons.
