Scotty girls lose to Malta, but
they gave the MEttes a run Despite Glasgows loss to Malta last night at GHSgymnasium, Scotty Head Coach Emilee Morehouse hadto eel pretty good about how they handled the pressureand hung in there with the undeeated MEttes.
Lexis Synan put up 16 points in Glasgows 45-34 losswhereas typically Malta has been outscoring opponentsby 20 or more points an outing. Te Scotties dropped to 1-8 overall while theMEttes improved to 9-0 and are ranked 3rd in the GirlsClass B power poll behind Fairfield and Deer Lodge. Te Scotty girls, along with the boys, will be inPoplar this Saturday. Te afernoon starts at 1:00 withthe C girls. Te varsity girls are scheduled to tip off at
7:00. I they play like they have the past couple outings, they should be coming home with a 2-7 record beoretangling with the Glendive Red Devils on uesday night.
Correction to front page It was noted on todays ront page that the Scottyboys will be playing in Glendive on Monday. Scratchthat, it is on uesday that they will be traveling toDawson County, and i they can get past the Red Devils, they will definitely continue to enjoy that #1 ranking!

Jake Page makes a nice move to the bucket for a lit tle reverse layup and two of his 11 points
to help guide the Scotties past Malta in a District 2B thriller last night. The Mustangs fell to
7-2 with their other loss being their opener to Havre. Malta and Glasgow will be meeting up
on the hardwood Friday, February 14th, hosted by the Mustangs. A third meeting between
these two teams could very well take place the following weekend likely f or the District 2B
title as t he Mustangs host the District 2B Tournament February 20-22.
Here we are over halway through January, Ihavent written one checkdated 2013, and believe meIve written a bunch. Seemslike some people just neverget tired o sending outbills. Being past the middleo January, one just naturallystarts thinking/day-dreaming about spring, andreminiscing about all andwondering.........what theheck am I doing here? Im anold guy, Im retired, Ive gotriends and amily in thatpart o the country. Tey callit the Sun Belt. Cept thiswinter not so much. Here
a couple weeks back thewhole Nation was suffering
rom that Arctic Vortex,or whatever they called it.All the major news outletssang the woes o Chicago, where it was five degreesbelow zero, with a windchill o minus eleven. I hadto wonder why they hadntreported that NortheasternMontana, that same day,was 27 below, with a minusfify wind chill. Well once you startwonderin you just kind owonder or a while, and soas not to violate and rulesor regulations, I did justthat. While we hadexperienced that 27 belowstuff, those sunbelters werein the 20s, not below, but itprobably elt like it, Im notsure anybody down there
even owns a long sleevedshirt, and some o them
may not be aware that longpants are available. It hasnt been even closeto a really bad winter.......so ar....... (knock on wood).Te National WeatherService could correct me iIm wrong, and I wouldntbe surprised i I am, but Ithink six or seven days is thelongest cold spell weve had. I wonder how manydays it takes to make areally bad cold spell? Te temperatures inthe last ew days were up inthe orties........heat wave.Accompanied by winds inthe twenties, everythingI can survey looks likepolished glass......so shinyand slick I had to wonderhow I hadnt slipped andallen on my.......wallet.......
you thought Isay something
While I wwhy I hadntallen, that prbulb illuminahead.......I hsomething ropeople I had with when I Tey had ashort, shuffliand it seemsthese icy cnow I wondeIll come up wsnow and ice Im still takinshuffling step

Te towns bank manager called the policestation to report a robbery: Youll never believe whathappened, Sergeant. A truck backed up to my bank, thedoors opened. Out comes these robbers and they leadan elephant out o the truck. Te elephant then breaksthrough my plate glass window, sticks his trunk in,sucks up all the cash! Ten the gang leads the elephantback into the truck. Te robbers close the truck doorsand the truck pulls away. It was unbelievable, Im tellin
ya! Te desk sergeant said, Could you describe or me,or identification purposes, whether it was an Aricanelephant or an Indian elephant? How can you tell the difference? asked the bankmanager. Well, explained the sergeant, Te Aricanelephant has great big ears whereas the Indian elephanthas little ears. So which kind o elephant was used in therobbery? How should I know? the desk manager piped up,I couldnt see his ears, he had a stocking mask over hishead.
An old woman went to see her doctor about herconstipation problem. Its horrible, she said, I haventmoved my bowels in a week. I see. Have you done anything about it? asked thedoctor.
Yes, doctor, she replied, I sit in the bathroom orabout a hal an hour in the morning and another hal anhour at night. No, the doctor said, I mean, do you take anything? Well, o course I do, she sneered, I take a book.
A woman went to see a Doctor, complaining o anupset stomach. Te Doctor asked What did you have

Sandra visited an Ophthalmologist or her eye checkup. Te doctor asked her to read some letters with her
lef eye while asking her to keep the right eye covered.Sandra was so conused on which eye was which thatthe rustrated eye doctor took a paper bag, made a holein it, covered up the appropriate eye and asked her toread the letters. He soon saw that Sandra had tears in her eyes. Hey, said the Ophthalmologist, theres no need toget sentimental about getting glasses.
