ColourThe main colours used in this poster are basic; white, black and red. The colour red represents anger and some form or danger or warning, which links with the main theme in the genre. White represents purity and innocence which give you’re an insight that something will happen to an innocent party or victim. The colour black connotes that something dark and sinister may happen. This attracts a more older audience because of simple use of colours.

LayoutThe layout of this poster is plain yet very effective. The silhouettes of the people standing on the shotgun shows us that the film is going to be filled full of gang violence with lots of shootings and death, which are typical conventions of the genre. The font used is effective because it reflects the comedic elements of the film. Also the word ‘AND’ had been put on a flag which shows that this is a British crime film. This could reveal something about the audience.LanguageThe language that is used in this poster are very short but effective words. The use of rhyme with ‘lock’ and ‘stock’ makes this more effective and a more memorable title.

Images The images used in this poster are effective because of how the people are standing on the barrel of the gun. This adds humour which implies the film could include a comedy side to it.

GenreFrom this poster you are able to know that the genre for this film would be a crime from the language used and the images of the shotgun.

AudienceThe audience for this movie would be mainly young adults from it black comedy and violence.

ColourThe main colour in this poster is a blood red. This shows us that this film is going to include lots or violence and killings. The black colours connotes power, authority, death and violence. This links to a serious theme.

ImagesThe image used in this poster is of 6 gang members all looking suspicious yet confident. This is effective as it gives an insight to the audience what the film is going to be about. Each character has a suspicious look on their face which confuses the audience so they do not know who is good or bad. All there costumes are in suits which immediately gives them power and authority. This links to the genre as it is what you would expect ‘gangsters’ to wear.

LayoutThe layout is very plain and basic. The title is down at the bottom with the use of a simple font. The image takes up most of the poster which enables the audience to imagine the sort of things that will happen in the film. It focuses on the characters which indicates they are important to the main narrative.

Genre The genre is clearly represented by this poster as a Gangster crime. This is due to the image of the gang members dressed in suits looking suspicious.

LanguageLanguage that is used in this poster is very minimal and basic. The title ‘Snatch’ is effective because it represents the whole theme of kidnapping and gang violence.

Audience The main target audience for this movie is would be young adults who would be stereotypically mainly male

LayoutThe layout is very plain and simple. It is effective as it draws the audience straight away to the woman's legs. The image is on the left hand side and is very large which also draws the attention to her. The text is in the middle which is a quote showing how much an audience member enjoyed the film therefore others can relate to this

LanguageThe language used in this poster is very minimal however the have cleverly used the number 4 in the word L4AYER as they have made it look like a number plate to represent cars in the movie.

Audience The audience would be more adult male that would watch this. From the picture it shows that it will be full of sex and woman which means that most men would enjoy this movie

ImagesThe image used in this poster is effective as we see a ladies legs in suspenders. This immediately attracts a more male audience. They have not used many images for this poster as it allows the audience leave what they think is going to happen to their imagination.

GenreAlthough this is a crime drama there is a strong comic element due to the image of the woman's legs holding a box with a flower sign on it.

Colour: there is a varied colour palette used on this front cover. The background colours are all mainly dark, sinister colours, they have been used because they reflect the theme of the cover image. The titles on the cover are in a deep red colour, this is to contrast the background palette so they stand out and are eye catching.

Image: The image that is used on this front cover is quite simple, just one image is used to show what the main article is about. The use of one main image means that the cover is not to busy and easy for the reader to look at. The image used is of Leonardo De Caprio, he is a figure that everyone knows, this could be seen as a major selling point for the magazine.

Layout: This magazine cover is set out in a very futuristic way. The background image is clearly computer generated. The text on the cover is set at an angle, this gives the impression of speed. Both of these techniques help to connote the future. The headlining texts are all in bold so they are eye-catching.

Language: The use of the words “PLUS!” and “DREAM” suggest that there is something positive about the magazine, this is a selling point for the magazine as it makes the reader want to know why. The rest of the language used on the cover is film titles.

Audience: De Caprio is wearing a black suit and tie, this connotes authority. The fact that he is holding a gun suggests that he is a powerful character, they have used this image to appeal to a certain audience, for example young adults who aspire to relate to his character.

Colour: the colour palette used on this cover is full of reds and oranges. This is because the issue is themed as the “explosive action issue” and the colours help to enforce this theme as they are typical of anger and explosions.

Image: the images that have been used on this front cover are all images of the main characters from the three films being reviewed in the magazine. There are a few images inset, these are to show the free products being given away with the issue.

Layout: the cover is laid out in quite a simple way, there is a header to establish the theme of the magazine. The rest of the text is laid out in a fairly un-intrusive way as to not block the cover image. There are a couple of inset images but they are set into the corner< again as to not block the cover image.

Language: The use of the words “PLUS!” and “FREE” suggest that there is something positive about the magazine, this is a selling point for the magazine as it makes the reader want to know why. The words “explosive, action, killer and dynamite” all suggest that there is something exciting about the issue. The rest of the language used on the cover is film titles.

Colour: the colour palette used on this magazine cover ties in with the theme of the magazine. It is meant to be “the summer issue” so the colours they have used are all light colours such as whites and blues.

Layout: this magazine cover is rather basic, just one main image surrounded by text and inset images.

Image: there is one main image that has been used on the cover. The image is of Jessica Alba, she is an iconic figure in the media world, this is a major selling point for the magazine. The are a few film stills that have been inset to show the reader what else to expect from the magazine.

Language: the use of the words “RED HOT” suggests that there is some exciting information in the issue. The use of the words “FIRES” and “brightest” also help to emphases this point. At the bottom of the page the word “plus” suggests that there is something positive abut the issue.

A very fast paced opening sequence of shots from the movie, all the transitions used are straight cuts, these are used to help establish the theme of the film.

Setting: Back streets of London, Bars and underground casinos

Costumes: in most scenes the characters are wearing smart / casual costumes

Camera angles: mainly close ups used to show facial expressions. Also a lot of low angles used.

Editing: Lots of straight cuts to create the fast pace of the chase.

Slow motions is included to create a more intensive effect to the chase scene.

Sound:

Diagetic sounds for example crowds all shouting to buy the goods – creates a more realistic scene.

Non-Diagetic sounds which is the soundtrack that is played over which is fast pace and adds speed to the scene and excitement.

Costume: most characters in casual dress. The main characters are wearing suits to look more important than they really are.

Some of the characters Jewish costumes which hides their identity.

Editing: there are a lot of straight cuts used in this trailer, this is to add pace to the trailer.

Setting: typical urban area of Britain. Set in a dark room with the Two main characters introducing us to their lives.

Sound:

Non-diagetic sounds used throughout the opening

Very softly narration to introduce the characters.

Camera Angles:

Close up shots are used to show the expression of the characters.

Dolly crane – raises over the back of his head to give a high angle looking down on the main characters.

Props: cars, drugs, prison props: dining table, jumpsuits

Setting: Outside on the streets, In a pharmacy, A flat which is called the ‘drug den’.

Editing: Cross fades into different scenes for example from being outside it the fades into a prison dining hall.

Sound:

Slow music which is played over the narration.

Diagetic sound of narration over the clip explaining to us what is going on.
