IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN—COME TONIGHT!

Looking for a place to serve? FBC Bedford is looking for men and women willing to be

trained to lead Celebrate Recovery groups. Come tonight if you are interested.

What is it?

Are you struggling with a hurt, habit, or hang-up? Do you need something greater than yourself to help you get freedom over this? Whether your struggle is related to a

broken relationship, addiction, emotional trouble, or anything else—Celebrate Recovery is for you. The purpose of Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives. In a support-group atmosphere, we open share our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our lives´ problems. By working and applying

Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually.

What does it look like?

Celebrate Recovery members work in a workbook throughout the week. At the meetings, worship together then break off into men’s and women’s groups. We read together the recovery principles and steps, then each member has the opportunity to

share their answers from their workbooks. Following this small group time, we reconvene and have a time of refreshments and fellowship.

What are the details?

6:00—7:30/8:00 PM Sunday nights In the Fellowship Hall Bring $20 for a full 9-month set of books (that's 51 cents a week!).

You may only join the groups up until June 17.

The next opportunity to join a group may be in April of 2013.

Please pray for Pastor Marty as he is in Sierra

Leone this week teaching at a Youth Leadership Training

Camp.

First Baptist Church of Bedford endeavors to be a 4E Community as we “Embrace God through worship, Encourage one another in love, Equip one another for service, and Engage the world with the Good News of Jesus.”

Howdy Folks! What can you say? I’m Texan...I’ve always been Texan, and I always will be. No matter where we reside or where we are from, ultimately all that matters is that we are one as God’s family! I am reminded, as Pastor Marty is serving in Sierra Leone currently alongside the Bonnet Family, that the entire planet, not just Bedford, the DFW area, Texas, or even the U.S.A, but the entire planet is part of God’s design, and we are part of His family. Everyone does it, I’m sure...you know...when you’re driving down the road, or watching it on TV, or even walking the streets, you always see someone that needs help, that is going through something that you can’t help but feel bad for and wish you could help. But, instead, you sit there and say, “Well, they’ll get taken care of. Someone will watch over them.” But what happens if no one does? I came across this while I was reading the Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul submitted by Sister Mary Rose McGeady, Covenant House: “On the street I saw a small girl cold and shivering in a thin dress, with little hope of a decent meal. I became angry and said to God: ‘Why did you permit this? Why don’t you do something about it?’ For awhile God said nothing. That night he replied, quite suddenly: ‘I certainly did something about it. I made you.’” God created each and every one of us for a special purpose while we are living on this Earth. It is our responsibility to seek what He has in store for us and go out into the world. John C. Maxwell puts it this way, "God's gift to me is my potential. My gift back to God is what I do with that potential." I pray that each and every one of us will live a life worthy of being a part of God’s family! In Him Always, Bro. Chris
