Editor’s Note

Hi everyone! As you can see from the table of contents,

there’s a lot of great upcoming events to talk about and pre-

pare for. Make sure you guys all sign up to volunteer so you

can get hours! Remember, you need a minimum of 20 hours

by the end of the service year in order to be counted as a

Key Club member for the year. These events in the next few

months will provide you with ample opportunities to earn

them! Enjoy the last few days of break everyone!

Your Editor,

Samuel Wu

And from all the officers:

President’s Message

Welcome to 2014! I hope you all had a wonder-

ful break! We have so much coming up these

next few months and the officers cannot wait to

start off the year with a ton of service. As a gen-

eral member, there will be tons of opportunities

to get involved such as in school fundraisers and

projects, or Lieutenant Governor elections! I'll

see you all back at school!

Yours truly,

Jasmine Jean

Future Events

Fundraiser for Mrs. Krinner

Mrs. Krinner, a staff member at Central Middle School, recently

lost her house as well as her three dogs in a fire. In a joint effort

with the Builder’s Club, we will be fundraising for money that will

be going towards a gift card for Target/Kohls and other such

stores.

Class Projects

General members, it’s your turn to show the officers and the advi-

sors your leadership skills! Each class will have a Class Project Di-

rector who will lead their respective grade on a project of their

choice. For example, some people choose to do restaurant fundrais-

ers, help at the soup kitchen, or go to the daycare center. All funds

raised through these events will go towards the Krinner family.

Learn more about become a Class Project Director at the next

meeting!

Baldwin Oaks

It’s almost time for our annual trip to Baldwin Oaks! This year,

we’re changing it up a bit and making performances the focus point

of the event, similar to Coffeehouse. So make sure you guys sign

up to perform, whether it’s singing, dancing, reading poetry, etc.

The exact date of the event will be announced at the next general

meeting.

Lieutenant Governor (LTG) Elections

Lieutenant Governor elections will be taking place on January 24.

Juniors and sophomores are strongly encouraged to run for this po-

sition if you are a truly dedicated member, and wish to play a larger

role in Key Club. It is a great way to get more involved, meet new

people, and obtain a unique experience. However, keep in mind that

this is an immense and serious task to take on and would require co-

pious amounts of time and effort. For more information, talk to

one of the officers!

Montville Volleyball Tournament

Yes, it’s that time of year again! The Montville Key Club will

be hosting their annual volleyball tournament in early 2014.

Last year, there were over 20 teams in attendance and courts

spread out over two gyms. The event raised over $8000 dol-

lars for the Eliminate Project! You sure won’t want to miss

out on this event!
