Dinner Money
It takes Mrs Williams a lot of time recording the
dinner money each week and even more time is
being spent chasing up late money. Please,
please help her by making sure the correct money
is sent in on Monday morning in an
envelope clearly marked with your child's name
and class. We do not keep change in
school.
Cancer Research UK
A big thank you to everyone
who bought the cards made
by the children in years 5 and
6 last term. We made almost
£100 for Cancer Research
UK. Some cards were
donated to the Macmillan
coffee morning last week.

Over the last two weeks, Year 6 children in Mrs Coleman's class and Maths group have been taking advantage of the
fabulous weather. Not only have they studied angles and shape properties on the playground, they have also been
investigating how shadows are formed by drawing around themselves with chalk. We are having a brilliant time.

Parents Questionnaire
We hope that everyone found the Parents Questionnaire summary useful and informative and the key action points from it
for this coming year are:
- Increasing the number of opportunities for working parents to be involved in school events/meetings
- Regularly updating the website
- Developing greater awareness of the role of the Governing Body and how they can be contacted.
- Standardising homework so that all children feel it is interesting, useful and relevant.
- Ensuring that all year groups have opportunities for after school clubs
Your Child’s Appearance
We would like to draw parent’s and children’s attention
to the section on appearance in the school’s
prospectus.
Children are encouraged to wear their hair in a suitable
manner for school. Extremes of fashion, both in terms
of clothing and personal appearance are not allowed in
school. By drawing attention to themselves in this way
children can open themselves to potential bullying and
ridicule and distract other pupils from their work.
All hair longer than shoulder length (regardless of
gender) should be tied back.
Trainers and high heeled shoes are not school uniform.
Jewellery (including necklaces, bracelets and rings)
should not be worn in school, with the exception of
watches and stud earrings. Stud earrings must be
removed during PE, Games and Swimming lessons or if
this is not possible, the children should cover these
with plasters provided by home. Nail varnish and
makeup are not permitted.
I am sure you will all support us in ensuring that we
have high expectations and high standards of
appearance.
Building Works
We are pleased to be able to tell you that grant funding has
been awarded for an extension to be built onto our kitchen and
funding also awarded in conjunction with the After School Club
for an extension to the Activites Suite.
As work will be starting next week there will be:
* an increase in the traffic through the main gate with deliveries
etc.
* an issue with staff parking so there will be limited on street
parking available.
This work is likely to go on for a few months. As Holy Family
School are in a similar situation, please be patient and
remember you may need to allow yourself a little more time
when coming to and from school and avoid parking over the
driveways of our neighbours.
Support for Parents
Kim Taylor, our Parent Support Adviser is on the
playground every morning. If she can help in any way
she will do, so please drop by and say hello.
Hayley Taylor, our school nurse, is available every Friday
for parents to drop in and discuss any health or medical
matters. No appointment needed.
Our new Education Welfare Officer, Annette Mullard can
be contacted on 07812 967917 if parents have any
question or require support with attendance or
punctuality issues.
