CARING AND CAMPAIGNING FOR OUR COMMUNITY

YOUR PRIORITIES ARE MY PRIORITIES ■ Keep County Council spending focused on essential services and those most in need.

■ Improve educational facilities so teachers can keep delivering improved standards and skills in their pupils.

■ Balance the need for development with maintaining West Sussex’s special environment.

■ Press hard to make the planning system deliver the facilities to support sustainable development.

■ Strive to help our economy and daily lives by delivering improvements in roads, pavements, cycleways and drainage.

WORKING FOR OUR COMMUNITY

■ These include Cricket (Groundsman

at Tangmere and a Sussex League

Umpire), community/recreation

facilities and a clean environment.

■ Served as a Tangmere Parish

Councillor and as its District Councillor

since 2011. Elected to serve Chichester

East Division at County in 2013. Has

been heavily involved in planning,

community, local highway and drainage

matters. Secured over £100,000 in

WSCC grants for the Division”

A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR ALL

“I’m seeking your support in continuing

to represent your interests at County.

There are many issues that affect all

three tiers of Local Government. I

believe it is an advantage to have a

Councillor who has a part in all levels in

the same electoral area.

■ Local Government, run by local

people, is the most efficient means of

delivering many services.

■ To fund services and facilities we

need a sustainable economy with the

right balance between taxes, spending,

encouraging personal responsibility and

helping those who are in real need.”

“Simon Oakley was born in St Richard’s, brought up in East Wittering,

attended local schools and moved to Tangmere in 1986. After a career as a

Merchant Naval Deck Officer (the last 11 years of which with P&O Ferries at

Portsmouth) his time is now devoted to local matters and interests.

Above: Planning for and managing new development Right: Working to improve highways and maintain safe access for all.

Top right: : Continuing the work to improve drainage infrastructure.
