Department of Zoology of St Aloysius College(Autonomous),
Jabalpur is a Resource centre for providing Consultancy and
Internship Training in Vermicomposting to UG & PG students of
various colleges of Jabalpur district from the month of January
to March each year

by our expert consultant Dr. Aradhana Rai, Director,Adivasi
Vikas Kendra and Paryavaran Sanrakshan was organized on
26.03.2018.
Internship Training in Vermicomposting
2018-19 As a Resource Centre Department of Zoology organized Internship training on
“Vermicomposting as sustainable practice for solid wastes management in Jabalpur
city” from 23/01/2019 to 01/03/2019. Total 85 students from different colleges of
Jabalpur city were enrolled for the training programme. On the concluding day of
Internship project Guest lecture on “Vermicomposting as source of self employment”
by Dr. Aradhana Rai, Director, Adivasi Vikas Kendra and Paryavaran Sanrakshan was
organized on 01.03.2019.
Internship Training in Vermicomposting
2019-2020
Internship training on “Vermicomposting as sustainable practice for solid wastes management in Jabalpur city” was organized at the College Campus by the department from 23rd January – 14th
March 2020 for M.Sc IV Sem Students. Total 13 students were enrolled. The objective of
vermicomposting was to collect the municipal wastes, kitchen scraps, non-toxic solids waste of the
household garbage’s which was converted into environment friendly compost by using vermi i.e
earthworms (Eisenia foetida) .The prepared compost was used for college campus garden to
maintain a healthy environment.
