My Experience with the Delaware North Company

As a Human Resource intern working with the Delaware North Company I was able to learn the importance of part time employees in the sport industry. Our company’s associates are part time seasonal employee; they are employed to work all events at MetLife Stadium. Without our associates we wouldn’t be able to serve the 82,500 seat stadium.

Jets and Giants Home Games

As a Human Resource intern, I was required to work all Jets and Giants home games. On game days I was required to check in associates, assistant in uniform distribution and check stands to make sure associates were in their appropriate locations.

Delaware North Company & Super Bowl XLVIII

My role as a intern was significantly important this season. This season MetLife Stadium hosted Super Bowl XLVIII. My job responsibility consist of getting all 3,200 associates credentialed to work Super Bowl XLVIII. The credentialing process involved associates filling out a form, background checks, credit checks and pictures of all associates. This process was very difficult by very rewarding; being that we were able to completely staff Super Bowl XLVIII.

Other Internship ResponsibilitiesCredentialing our associates for Super Bowl XLVIII was my main responsibility as an intern. But, it was not my only responsibility. I also had some of the usual intern responsibilities such as filing, answering phones and responding to all associates questions and concerns.

Super Bowl XLVIII• Preparing and working

Super Bowl XLVIII was an amazing experience. Some weeks I worked over 40 hours but seeing everything come together on February 2nd make all the hours worth it.

My Overall ExperienceAll in all my internship with the Delaware North Company at MetLife Stadium has definitely been one to remember. I was able to work the most anticipated sporting event in United States. Not many people are able to say they actually helped put on the first cold weather Super Bowl. However, this internship has allowed me the opportunity to experience Super Bowl XLVIII.
