NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Based upon the Common Core and the AASL Learning Standards we developed this inquiry based lesson to help students investigate the world of social action and social change. From working with this particular group of students we have created lessons (see overview of unit) that:
oScaffold necessary skills to become expert researcher and presentersoDevelop their 21st century skillsoAllow for metacognitionoAllow the teacher and librarian to tweak lessons to further meet their needs

LEARNER ANALYSIS
By working with this group throughout the year both teachers feel a strong understanding of what they need to successfully complete this project.
By engaging students in a variety of activities and allowing them the opportunity to express what they’ve learned in a variety of ways we will reach all learners!

LEARNER ANALYSIS HISTORICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED STUDENTS
Isearch’s purpose is to allow students to seek information within his or her own interests By taking his or her own path students can find
the best way path for him or her Students produce a variety of products to
explain their learning allowing students to show off a variety of skill sets
By using the media center, students who don’t have access to computers will find success in their work

Detailed list on the Unit Plan Overview In general students will:
- master the research tools available in the library.
-conduct meaningful research. -present their findings. -think about the process of conducting
research, writing MLA research paper and participating in changing their communities.
