In case of guarantee claims, the device has to be sent back to the seller in the original packaging withthe attached bill of purchase and detailed defect‘s description. Please pay attention to the manufacturer‘sreturn requirements (RMA). The legal warranty directions are valid.

The warranty claims as well as the operating permissions become invalid due to:

a) unauthorized changes to the device or accessories which have not been approved or carriedout by the manufacturer or its partners

b) opening the device‘s frame

c) self-made repairs on the device

d) improper use / operation

e) brute force to the device (drop, willful damage, accident etc.)

During installation, please pay attention to all safety relevant and legal directions.

The device has only to be installed by trained personnel or similarly qualified people.

Safety instructionsThe installation can be executed only by trained qualified personnel. Before the installation disconnectthe power supply. Therefore cut off the battery from the vehicle electric system, follow the manufacturer’sspecification.

• Never use bolts, screws and other fastening elements from car’s safety devices or steeringwheel, brakes because it may influence your driving safety and cause accidents.

• Connect the device only to a 12V vehicle voltage with chassis ground to the car body. This unitcannot be used in large trucks or other vehicles which use a DC 24 V battery wiring systemvoltage.

• Avoid to install the device in places where it could hinder the safe driving or functional efficiencyof the other units installed in the vehicle.

• This unit is only for the use with the following vehicles and model line; Only connectionsdescribed within this instruction manual are allowed or required to use for installation.

• For damage impact caused by faulty installation, unsuitable connections or assembling ininappropriate vehicle types or models Kufatec GmbH &Co.KG assumes no liability.

• We advise you that these units process data out of the MOST protocol from the vehicle. Duringthe assembly of this unit we as supplier have access to a specific model and we as producer don’tknow the overall system you work with.

• Especially in case of changes within the same model line and the same model year we don’tguarantee the usability of our products. In case of the usability of our products with themanufacturer’s changes Kufatec GmbH assumes no liability.

Installation instructionsThe following presentation shows the laying of the wires and the position of the single components aswell.

Open the trunk lid. Remove the lining of the trunk lid (fig. 3). This is only inserted.

Loosen the fastening screws (left side, right side) of the side trunk lid lining. Take out the servicecovering plate and unscrew the fastening bolts (fig. 5, 6).

Take out the trunk illumination and the push button of the trunk lid closing mechanism (in case of elec.trunk lid).

Take out the breakdown triangle and loosen the screws situated beneath (fig. 9).

Remove the necessary bolts of the handle bar. Install the rear view camera (fig. 11). Connect the 2-pinand the FAKRA plug of the camera to the delivered cable set (fig. 12).

Remove the D-column lining. Lay the cable set toward the trunk compartment (fig. 13).

Connect the GRAY video wire coming from the camera with the RVC – control device (GRAY).Connect the GREEN FAKRA plug and the main cable set to the RVC- control unit. Assemble the controlunit.

Laying of the wires into the front area of the vehicle (fig. 16). Lever the rear and front kicking plate out ofits frame (fig. 17). Take out the lining of the right A-column.

Loosen the necessary bolts of the glove compartment (fig. 19, 20).

Take the MMI 3G unit out of the centre console (unlocking hook).

The connection of the Quadlock plug takes place via two wires in total.

Push the pink locking to the right (fig. 25). Press the CAN-breaking plug aback and take out. Actuate thepink locking and remove the cover cap (fig. 26).

Remove the pink safety locking (fig. 27).

Actuate the locking and take out the housing of the CAN – breaking plug (fig. 28).

Plug the wires in the following cells:

PIN 14 – Low PIN 14 – High

NOTE: If these PINs are occupied so the wires have to be pinned in the free PINsof the same cable link.

The wire for the permanent positive has to be connected with the respective fuse carrier. Check

before the installation which fuse carrier leads the permanent positive.

After that connect the ground wire with the ground point.
