Hello and welcome,This year is set to be a memorable one with over 300 eventsmaking up the exciting programme for Wrexham Year ofCulture and the National Eisteddfod forming its centrepiece.

Whether you are a Wrexham resident, familiar with the variousattractions of our local scene, or a first time visitor from adistant place, I hope that you will find something of interest inthe pages of this first instalment of our programme and beinspired to sample our rich culture, diverse arts and theinspirational heritage that this special area has to offer.

LIGHT FANTASTIC CARNIVALLAUNCH EVENT

This is where the story really begins.Come and join the carnival. There’ll bedressed floats and juggernauts drivingthrough the town centre, people inoutlandish costumes, dancing, colour,music and a spectacular parade withlanterns and music that will set Wrexham’scultural flame alight.

The carnival will blaze a visuallyspectacular trail through the towncentre, making its way to the Guildhallfor opening speeches and a shortperformance by the oldest and (in ouropinion) greatest boy-band in theworld - the Froncysyllte Male VoiceChoir! Then stand back and witness atruly awesome firework display.
