Apparitions at Fatima $35 by Daniel Costele is one of the 'most accurate' films about the greatest Marian Apparitions of the 20th century made so far. Firstly, it is the only film that develops the 1916 apparitions of the Angel of Peace who appeared to children, Lucia, and now saints Jacinta and Francisco and prepared them for later apparitions of Our Lady by teaching them a significant prayer deeply rooted in the spirit of sacrifices that they more and more willingly undertook for sinners and their conversion. Secondly, Costele's film places the story in the very political context of the Portugal of these years, turbulent years indeed. The anti-clerical government begun by Alfonso Costa with the rise of the Republic in 1910 and the bastion of their media, the newspaper 'O Seculo' (paradoxically promoted the events at Fatima through their mockery) is embodied by the mayor of Vila Nova de Ourem and Fatima. He arrests the children in the prison at Ourem and demands them to reveal the secret the Lady put to them (contrast between the earthly powers of freemasonry and totalitarianism and the powers of heaven). He frightens them, his only weapon, while Our Lady says: "Do not be afraid.' It is a message of God's Love, of peace that may be achieved through prayer, penance and sacrifice. Thirdly, the film does justice to the depiction of children's families. Olimpia and Manuel Marto, the parents of Jacinta and Francisco, perhaps do not have so many doubts as Lucia's mother Maria Rosa. Yet, in both families, there is that pure modesty, that feeling that "We are not worthy. How is that possible?" Yes, God chooses 'little ones' to entrust 'great things.' Note two scenes: Lucia's mother visiting the parish priest and Lucia's father praying the Rosary with her at Cova da Iria. Two different attitudes, yet deeply rooted in faith. The film was most welcome by two greatest 20th century Fatima witnesses: St. John Paul II and Servant of God Sister Lucia. They both saw the film and the children who play the seers were with John Paul II at Fatima altar in 1991 in the same dresses the seers were once wearing. "Do not offend God any longer, pray the Rosary each day" said the Beautiful Lady who 100 years ago appeared in this little village, Fatima. That is the remedy for world's suffering and the way to permanent peace. The saintly Pastorinhos and their "Ave Maria" echoes from there to the whole world. 93 minutes 6. Bernadette of Lourdes $16 Based on a true story, this French drama follows Bernadette Soubirous (Danièle Ajoret), a poor young woman who claims to see visions of a woman in white whom she believes to be the Virgin Mary. Though some scoff at Bernadette's claims, she begins to gain a following, and the spot in the town of Lourdes where her visions have been seen reportedly starts to yield miraculous cures. Going on to become a nun, Bernadette is later canonized as a Catholic saint. It is an early classic film portrayal. 97 minutes 8. 130. Saint Augustine B Groeschel $15 "After deciding to research St. Augustine, a long process of digging through the multiple books in the library and the vast amount of articles on the Internet was needed. Sifting through the voluminous load of information was a great task. However, this task supported the reason I initially chose Augustine: to learn about the man who converted, the convert who became a bishop, the bishop who became a saint, and the saint who became how we know Augustine today—as a great theologian and devoted Christian. Within his many writings, we can see how these characteristics previously mentioned are evident. We will do so by looking at a brief section from Augustine’s Confessions and City of God. In addition, we will examine how various scholars such as Brown, Meagher, and Placher, interpret and understand St. Augustine. Along with this textual research, we will explore a video, St. Augustine: His Life and Spirituality, by Fr. Benedict Groeschel. Over all, we will determine the multiple ways Augustine has been interpreted within different mediums—from text to tape—and draw a conclusion to the portrait of who is Augustine, then and now. Who is this man from the fourth Century CE? Perhaps a brief look into the biography of Augustine will begin our search for the mystery behind the man, the bishop, and the saint." 90 minutes

St. Bernadette of Lourdes is true to the saint’s story, is professional-quality, and what is most extraordinary: has an all-children cast. It’s the first feature film from Navis Pictures in Danbury, Conn. “This whole endeavor,” says Jim Morlino, Navis president, director, producer, screenwriter “began within our own family and our desire, which is shared by many parents, to protect the innocence of our children and foster in them a love and appreciation of beauty, especially mindful of the Author of beauty.” Jim and Fran enjoyed watching family-friendly entertainment with their six children, and decided the family should make their own movies, believing beautiful art could be made by kids in their own backyard. Jim acknowledges “the work of the Holy Spirit in this entire venture, Our Lord, Our Lady, and St. Bernadette smiling on us,” because the logistics involved upwards of 80 child actors some days, yet everything went smoothly. By the end of filming, his children had a deeper appreciation for Our Lady’s role in human history and how Our Lord allows her to bring the world timely messages. 77 minutes

Its broadcast release coincides with the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest scientific breakthroughs in history-James Watson and Francis Crick's discovery that the DNA molecule carries hereditary information in the form of a code that many scientists have likened to computer software or a written language. This discovery (announced on April 25,1953) sparked a scientific revolution. But it also left a fundamental question unanswered. Where did the information in DNA come from? How did the software in the cell arise? Unlocking the Mystery of Life explores these questions through the stories of a growing number of scientists who no longer believe that natural selection or chemistry, alone, can explain life's origin. Instead, they think that the microscopic world of the cell provides evidence of purpose and design in nature. 65 minutes
