Group of
Companies
We are proud
to be the
Carriers that
Care…
for our customers,
our Team,
and the communities
we serve.
WHOA! That’s A LOT Of money! Thirty-Eight Thousand Dollars...that’s the extra money
Team 9 spent on fuel in March. EXTRA….in idling.
You know those mornings and there seems to be a chill
in the air-sure, it’s only minus 10, but brrr. Or how
about that time you just have a small box to deliver and
you just leave your unit run while you jump into the
customer’s to get it delivered. These, and any other idle
time took that $38,000 from the pockets of Team 9 and
paid the bills.
That’s right-if Team 9 actually kept their idle within
target (if you don’t know what your idle should be-talk to your leader-they will tell you), then that money spent
would have been in the pot –not taken out. Sad but true.
Turn it off unless it’s colder than minus 20 degrees
Celcius. It’s that simple.
Sylvia Kirk...because I care.

The never-ending Alberta winter that was fiercely holding on this year was not intimi-dating Team 9 in celebrating the upcoming Spring season and eight new winners in the quarterly quality share draws this April. Pre-sented with a new Coleman Grill, propane tanks and BBQ tools, two Team 9 members from each zone began the warmer season (hopefully warmer season) ready to go!
The winners drawn were: Calgary Zone-Robb Hutton & Stacey Pine Drumheller Zone-Shelley Blanchett & Norma Stobbs Edmonton Zone-Willie Kidd & Shanice Stirett Red Deer Zone-Brian MacAllister & Ron Fost
Congratulations to these Team 9 members. And thanks to everyone throughout the sys-tem who enjoyed a day of grass skirts, palm trees (no matter how artificial they may ap-pear) and great company. The question is...who will be the winners of the next quarterly draws? Only time will tell... It’s ALWAYS a great day when you work at Hi-Way 9!

It is no secret that Team 9 is struggling with a CVSA inspections and OOS issue. It is also no secret that all of these issues could have or would have been prevented if a proper Pre-trip was done, or if any pre trip had been done at all.
Fact… ALL TEAM 9 members need to take this personally. Throughout the system wherever our Safety Team goes they are approached about the lack of pre-trips being done: there are new people saying no one does a pre-trip and at times a Team Leader will walk right by and do nothing when a driver just hooks and leaves.
It’s about the WHOLE Team-this communication is from internal people-let’s fix it!

to cover for two line runs three different days in the last two weeks. We greatly appreciate you doing this. We know that you have to change your sleep patterns in order to cover these runs in the east. Not only did you do it without any hesitation, you stepped up to the plate for us as always! Your Teamwork does not go unrecognized. Thanks for be-ing part of Team 9.
Maggie Moore-Calgary-You have been taking charge of our undelivered report and it has been consistently getting much better. We appreciate everything you do!
Greg Mitchell–Red Deer-In March you were doing your regular key drop at a customers in the early morning. You noticed a water leak and some flooding in their dock areas. You called their manager at 4am to tell him. The customer was very impressed with the quick action you took here. They are very appreciative of you calling which kept a maybe very serious store flood under control. You not only sell service but have been selling GREAT service to this and many other customers. Thank-you Greg! You show we care!!
Inkeke terMeer–Edmonton-You have never missed a day of work. You make a great effort for your team. Just so you know it does not go unnoticed.
Stacey Pine
Tyler Bolin, Larry Wattenbarger, Al Rohbach , JJ Westerby
Wally Medwedchuk-Edmonton-Every day when I walk the dock and do random checks for seatbelts and safe op-erations you always have yours on and you’re always watching where you are with the forklift. Keep up the safe work-we appreciate it.
Megan Livingston-Drumheller-I received a phone call from one of our customers and they made a point of com-menting on how nice the girl was who had answered their call. Thanks for making our customers feel good about calling us and keep up the great work!
Don Fewsi-Calgary-In March you helped the shunt driver @ the Calgary depot move a pup trailer that had frozen brakes. Between your truck & the shunt truck you pushed the trailer into a spot. Thanks for going the extra mile to help, Don.
Ron Pratt–Calgary-For the past few nights you have been helping train a new employee. She has mentioned more than once that you are very knowledgeable, very kind and very patient with her. She said as well that the crew in Cal-gary here appreciate you taking the time to help train and educate new drivers. We greatly appreciate your help and kindness in the matter.
Glen Huntley–Red Deer-Glen we recently had asked you
Thank you for your generous support in
this year’s ATCO Gas Employees Participation in
Communities (EIPC) charitable giving campaign. In total,
the online auction brought in over $19,000.
The funds raised from the online auction will be donated to Pancreatic Cancer Canada, which is the only national
foundation dedicated to raising money and awareness for
this deadly disease. They are committed to improving pan-
creatic cancer survival and creating hope through aware-
ness, education, patient support and research. Together, we
can be a part of their success.
Thank you again for being such an integral part of the
success of ATCO Gas EIPC. Your support helps us make a
difference in our communities.
With appreciation;
Brian Wozny

The Drumheller & District Fish & Game Association is very
grateful for your support which helped once again to make
this, our 27th Annual Wild Game Dinner & Awards Night, a
big success. With the generous donation you made, this year’s
fund-raising evening was very successful and helped make for a very enjoyable night for all who attended with a variety of
raffles, live and silent auctions and door prizes.
The funds raised at this year’s dinner auction will in part be
put toward our continuing efforts to provide support and fi-
nancial assistance to other organizations that are also conser-
vation-oriented.
….We look forward to continuing our work with you as a con-
servation partner far into the future. Thank you for your ongo-
ing and generous support of the Drumheller & District Fish &
Game Association. With your help we can all make a differ-
ence for years to come.
