Project mandateScope of the ProjectThe de-cabling project scope is to identify and remove obsolete cables within the injector complex, until the end of LS2. The activities will be organized according to the following priorities and goals:
First priority: PS BoosterThe identification of the obsolete cables in the PS Booster is the top priority, because of the needs for new cables for the LIU project. The following strategies will be studied in parallel to allow a decision to be taking on the strategy to be used at the PSB by September 2015.
Total removal of all cables: The project team will, in particular evaluate the cost, the time needed, possible schedules and the associated risks and benefits.
Partial removal (i.e. only obsolete cables): The project team will organize the identification of unused cables with the different stakeholders. The goal for a partial removal campaign is to remove at least 50% of existing cables.
Once the strategy has been chosen, the deadlines are:
Labelling and disconnection: YETS 2015-2016 Removal of obsolete cables: EYETS 2016-2017

Second priority: SPSFor BA5 and BA3, the objective is to identify respectively 50% and 40% of existing cables for removal, because of the congestion of the cable trays and the need to pull new cables. Moreover, the project team will have to closely follow the needs of the LIU project.
The deadlines are: Labelling and disconnection: YETS 2015-
2016 During 2016, the project team will
propose removal slots, taking into account the availability of resources and further needs of LIU project.

Project organization The project is under the responsibility of the core team, and lead by the project
leader Sebastien Evrard. The members of the core team is a tripartite between EN-EL, EN-MEF and DGS-RP:
o Booster: G. Minchev Georgiev, D. Hay, R.Froeschl o PS: P. Lelong, S. Mataguez, R. Froeschlo SPS: G. Gros, D. McFarlane, C. Tromel
Group link persons have been identified for each machine.
The project leader will regularly report on the progress and issues encountered to IEFC.

Group link persons mandateThe group link persons is the point of contact for the analysis and definition of the work, and is coordinating for his group the decabling for a or several machines, in contact with his group experts and the decabling project team. In particular he/she will organize:
• The identification of obsolete (/used) cables with respect to the EL cablotheque and/or group database
• The edition of the DEC (Demande d’Enlevement de Cables)• The labelling and disconnection of obsolete cables• The updating of the group database after cable removal
