We have a regional Business Quality Director to oversee the administration of the business management systems, including the implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS). Each office also has a Quality Manager.

Government of Singapore Next Generation Broadband Network

We are currently working with the Government of Singapore in the design, procurement and implementation of a Next Generation Broadband Network for their iN2015 programme, (ref: http://www.ida.gov.sg/About%20us/20070903145526.aspx), the aim of which is to provide every premise in the island with 1Gbps connectivity via fibre (FTTH).

Atkins was involved in the preparation of output specifications and Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation and in the leadership of, and participation in, competitive dialogue (CD) sessions with the tenderers including major worldwide players such as BT Global, Alcatel, SingTel and Hong Kong Broadband.

Technopolis and E-Village Telecommunications masterplan

Atkins delivered the telecoms masterplan for two new regional developments in Syria.

The first being a high tech city, Technopolis for heavy and light industry, 70km2. The second, an E-Village for education and service organisations.

Technology for both projects included Multiservice Access Nodes, providing all envisaged services from POTS, leased lines through to MPLS services for communities of up to 80,000 end users.

Pyramid Smart Village Telecommunications masterplan

Atkins was responsible for the telecommunications design elements of this new 133 hectare high technology park near Cairo comprising 52 private and public buildings.

This includes all of the security systems for the buildings and site. The main telecommunications installation will be carried out under a Build, Own and Operate contract and Atkins was responsible for the preparation of the concept, design and management documentation to allow this contract, the first of its kind in Egypt, to be tendered. Our work included high level consultation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
