Assembly

FoodPreparation

Drinking and Pouring

Juicing

Entire sink filled for wash and dry.

Seven total pieces to assemble each time

Doesn’t allow for multiple cup sizes, causing messes

High rpm just throws the wet pulp around with little production.

Defining the Problems

User Analysis

59% of users know there are negative affects from caffeine and used juice as a complete substitute.

78% that bought juice from a juice bar said bulk and convenience prevented them from owning their own juicer and going with the more convenient option

47% of users that owned their own juicer still felt the need to go to a juice bar out of convenience.

Users were surveyed at current juice bars and through email surveys to juicing and health forums.

To penetrate the saturated market the juicer must be

Initial Form IdeationVertical & Horizontal

Horizontal Form Study

In storage. Pull out auger.Remove feed chute from

storage container.Attach feed chute and

juice as normal.

Two containers needed for

horizontal auger.

Storage of additional parts is incorporated

to reduce space.

Motor configuration won’t allow for the use of a thermos or vertical container.

Vertical Form Study

Insert sports bottle.Invert feed chute

for storage.Insert fruit or vegetables.

Elevated form allows for collapsible design and pulp container

incorporation.

A rear motor setting would give room to a

better interface and more attractive profile form.

Inversion of feed chute greatly increases the

storability.

26Initial Model

Initial Solidworks/Cad model presented for critique. Model built strictly on function without styling.

Initial Model User Feedback

Questionable Stability

Maximize Space

Visual Feedback

A thermoplastic elastomer legs and base could cause the product to be unstable during the juicing process.

Empty interior space can be maximized for optimal storage and lowered production cost.

The blank face of the front of the juicer offers no user integrated experience and isn’t physically or mentally stimulating.

Must have a marketable, cohesive and appealing design.

Height Adjustment

Final Design

StorageVersatilityBlank plate incorporation allows for the transition from a juicer to a grinder and a revolutionary healthy lifestyle product.

Adjustable height allows the user to customize the product for their needs and streamlines

the drinking and cleaning process.

A silicone wiping blade prevents pulp build up during juicing.

Compacts down from 18” to a fully manageable 9.5”, smaller than any juicer on the market.
