Sweet things - Indians are sweet toothed beyond belief and what most in Britain address as desserts i.e. gulab jamuns, russ malai, jalaebis are all sweets and not desserts. any opportunity and the Indian will jump to the conclusion that a box of sweets is necessary. Most Indian sweets are no doubt milk based and of course they are mostly fabulous. If one was to say that there existed approximately five hundred different varieties and many more it would simply be an understatement. there is a sweet for every occasion, every festival, every religious celebration, for births, weddings, a special one even to celebrate getting pregnant, to celebrate the eight month of pregnancy and so on, the list is endless and the excuses just as many and we have not even spoken about the different communities, regions yet. It is no doubt therefore that India remains the world’s largest sugar cane producer and the largest Rum producer too naturally, the largest milk producer in the world and has the largest head of cattle in the world.

Lagan Nu Custard £7.50

This very popular of Parsee desserts is usually served at festive occasions and

weddings where, incidentally, it is eaten before the main meal is served or

even as afters. It is a unique baked custard made by slowly reducing milk to

a condensed form, which is then blended with eggs and sugar and flavoured

with nutmeg, crushed cardamom and rose extract, steamed like a crème

caramel served warm or cold.

Zafrani Crème Brulee £7.50

An exotic difference to the traditional brulee. Ours is delicately, deliciously

and uniquely flavoured with saffron, cardamom and a hint of fresh ginger.

Caramelised on top traditionally.

Goan Coconut Pancakes £7.50

This is a traditional Goan dessert of freshly grated coconut blended with

sultanas, toasted cashew nuts, spiced with cardamom and nutmeg, and filled

in a lime zest flavoured pancake, served with vanilla ice cream or cream.

Black Pepper Ice Cream £6.95

Crushed black peppercorns blended with rich ice cream flavoured delicately

with vanilla.

Crème Vanilla £6.95

Award-winning vanilla ice cream made with natural vanilla pod extract.

LACED WITH LIQUEUR OF YOUR CHOICE supplement of £1.95

Rich Belgian Chocolate £6.95

Two varieties of genuine chocolates make this rich and creamy ice cream

a favourite.

Stem Ginger £6.95

Candied ginger bits whirled into rich creamy ice cream.

English Strawberry £6.95 A smooth textured ice cream with fresh berry flavour.

Green Tea £6.95 Green tea ice cream is often served as a dessert and called ‘Maccha’ ice

cream in Japan. Maccha is tea powder used in Japanese tea ceremonies.

Here we are using the very best available green tea to make this fabulous

ice cream.
