NSW public schools more authority to make local de-

cisions about how best to meet the needs of their stu-

dents.

A fact sheet which provides a brief overview of the five reform areas and lists the key achievements for each area to date is available to download from: http://www.schools.nsw.edu.au/media/downloads/news/announcements/yr2013/lsld_reform_overview.pdf Mark Clemson Principal

Safe People, Safe Places With term two now underway, please take this oppor-tunity to discuss ‘Safe People, Safe Places’ messages with your children, including;

Make sure your parents or another adult you know knows where you are at all times.

Always walk straight home or to the place you are walking to. Use paths where there are lots of other people.

Know where safe places are – a shop, service sta-tion, police station, library or school. If you are ever frightened, you should go to one of these places and ask them to call the police.

Learn about safe adults you can look for and talk to if you need help – police officers, teachers at school, adults you know and trust.

Don’t talk to people you don’t know and never get into a car with someone you don’t know. If a car stops on the side of the road and you don’t know the person inside, do not stop.

If you are scared and can use a phone, call 000 and tell them you are scared.- If someone tries to grab you, yell out, ‘Go away, I don’t know you’. This lets other people know you have been approached by someone you don’t know.

Junior Golf—Term 2 Junior Golf will be commencing next Monday 27 and Tues 28 May at 4pm at Hawks Nest Golf Couse. Stu-dents may go on both or either days. Fees are $30 or $55 per family.

Stage 3 Excursion to Bathurst

week). Please finalise payments this week.

Voluntary School Contributions

voluntary school contribution for their children. This

contribution is greatly appreciated and helps buy re-

sources for our students. The fee is set by the P & C

and is $50 per family. Invoices will be sent home this

week.

Updating Student Emergency Contacts

A detailed “Emergency Contract Detail Report” will

also be sent home this week with each family. Please

update any changes in phone numbers/names/

Doctors/ and any additional details that are not com-

pleted on this report. It is important that we are able

to contact you and your designated emergency con-

tacts should we need to at any time. Thank you.
