“Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.”

Education throughout life is a desire to learn continuously and is the basis of 21st century learning. It is based on four pillars: learning to know, learning to live together, learning to do, and learning to be. It is the holistic approach to learning which involves development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values. Learning is seen not just as an intellectual process, but one that encompasses all aspects of an individual’s life, including their role in the community, performance in the workplace, personal development, and physical well-being.

With these thoughts in mind, the team @ Indian Language School with confidence and hope, innovative thoughts and SMART actions and commitment, promises to work and take accountability for the learning of our students. The school has been undertaking the responsibility of supporting the Indian community in Lagos for the past 35 years.

Our vision is ‘to nurture 21st Century Innovative Lifelong Learners who are

equipped with Life Skills and Social Values to become Global Citizens’.

YEAR OF DEVELOPING OUR MENTAL STRENGTH: 2021-2022

Mental strength is the ability to exercise our inner strength in everyday life, and the ability to deal effectively with all challenges

that we face. This requires a certain degree of willpower, self-discipline, and perseverance.

We all face various challenges in our daily life. Many of them are just minor challenges, with which we can deal automatically and easily, but some of them require a strategy, positive thinking and mental strength.

The COVID pandemic has taught us that we need to learn to deal with adversities in life. To inculcate habits to build our mental endurance and adversity quotient to prepare us for all the contingencies in life.

We must learn to keep our mind focused on what we are doing, and not let it get distracted so as to stay on the road that leads to our goals, no matter how tough the going is.

When we build mental endurance, we teach ourselves never to quit what we are doing. It keeps us going, despite the difficulties and challenges we might face.
