The Europe Day Luncheon is one of the annual highlights
of EuroCham. On the 13th
of May 2016, EuroCham will celebrate
the 66th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration of 1950 that led to
the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community and
subsequently of the European Union.
EuroCham is delighted to welcome Mr. S. Iswaran, Minister for
Trade and Industry (Industry) as a Guest of Honour and speaker at
this year's Europe Day Luncheon at Raffles Hotel.

January 2016
In January 2016, EuroCham successfully released its annual magazine 2015/2016. This fifth edition highlights
and relates the important steps of the past year as well as the numerous accomplishments of the Chamber on
the year of Singapore Golden Jubilee.

EuroCham held the annual Gold Members Dinner with the E.U. Ambassador. The event was hosted by H.E. Dr.
Michael Pulch, the European Union Ambassador to Singapore, at the Ambassador's residence where members
had the opportunity to share their views on the Economic and Political landscape of the region.

European Networking Night
16 February 2016
The first EuroCham Networking Night of 2016 took place on 16th February 2016, Tuesday, at Diageo's Bar. For
the participants, the event was an opportunity to meet new people and build new connections among Singapore

1) EuroCham's Human Resources Committee (HR) together with the European Foundation for Management
Development (EFMD) have taken the initiative to produce a White Paper on “Human Development Priorities
for the ASEAN Economic Community” that was launched on the 1st December 2015, as previously
mentionned.
2) EuroCham’s Intellectual Property Rights Committee (IPR) is currently developing a study in partnership with
The Economist Intelligence Unit: "Illicit Trade Environment Index" - the proposed index will cover 18 Asian
countries highlighting policy and enforcement shortcomings (e.g. transshipment of counterfeits, illicit trade
through Free Trade Zones, etc.). The Index will be launched in Q1 2016.

ICT Committee Meeting
Wed, 16 March 2016, 10.00am
On the 16th of March, the ICT Committee will
be holding a close-door meeting with the
Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of
Singapore. Mr. Steve Leonard, Executive Deputy
Chairman of the IDA, will be discussing on Smart
Nation as well as opportunities for collaboration
between the IDA and EuroCham.

Regional Trade Committee Meeting

On the 16th of March 2016, the Regional
Trade Committee will be meeting with the
European Union Delegation to the
Philippines. Mr. Walter VAN HATTUM, head
of the Trade and Economic Section of the EU
Delegation to the Philippines, will update
members on the recent EU-FTA Philippines
developments.
