Double Show

Double the chance!

The Scottish Kennel Club are excited to present our double show, giving exhibitors a unique opportunity to compete in two General Championship Shows on the same day.

How to enter:In order to enter both shows, you will need to enter each show SEPARATELY. The re-scheduled MAY show has a blue cover and the OCTOBER show has a yellow cover.

How it will work:Both the ‘May’ and ‘October’ shows will run together, with the majority of breeds being judged back to back (ie May breed judging, followed by the October breed judging). Once breed judging is complete, the May and October groups will be judged.

Judging commences at 9.00am, although judging in some rings may start a little earlier if required. Any breeds with large entries will be judged in separate adjacent rings at the same time (May show - dogs followed by bitches. October show - bitches followed by dogs)

Provisionally these breeds are as follows, although this is subject to change depending on entries:Boxer, Rottweiler, Whippet, Border Terrier, French Bulldog, CKCS, Pug, Collie (Rough), Retriever (Golden), Retriever (Labrador), Spaniel (Cocker).

COVID REGULATIONSDue to Covid, the show will be Unbenched, areas for cages and trolleys will be clearly laid out. Chairs will not be provided and exhibitors should bring their own. SKC are planning for the show to be held safetly indoors, in line with Scottish Government Covid Regulations at the time. Specifi c information for exhibitors, or any necessary changes will be published via our Facebook and website pages, along with Higham Press website. EYE TESTINGMr Malcolm Davidson, BVM&S, CertVOphthal MRCVS (member of BVA Eye Panel), will be in attendance on each day of the Show.

Testing under the KC/BVA Scheme for: 1) Progressive Retinal Atrophy, 2) Hereditary Cataract, 3) Retinal Dysplasia, 4) Collie Eye Anomaly, 5) PHPV & other diseases

Gonioscopy/Glaucoma Testing will NOT be available.

NOTE: Mydriatic drops which dilate the dog’s pupils will be used in all eye tests. These allow a more satisfactory examination. The drops are short acting and will not affect the performance of the dogs in the show ring (If preferred, dogs may be tested after judging).

Please note that all dogs tested under the above schemes must have an identifying chip. No certifi cate can be issued if the chip is not present and readable at time of examination.

Although any breed can be examined for eye disease, currently only the results of those breeds that appear on Kennel Club Schedule A of the Eye Scheme are sent to the Kennel Club for inclusion on computer records and printing in the Breeds Records Supplement.
