The shape of the poinsettia’s brackets and leaves resemble the Star of Bethlehem, which led the Magi to the
Christ Child. The Red Color reminds us of Christ’s Blood, shed for our salvation. White poinsettias remind us of
Christ’s purity. Green symbolizes life and hope.

University Christian Church is a warm,
welcoming faith community, and we
are so happy you chose to worship
with us tonight. We wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and
pray with hope that the New Year will bring more peace, love, and
joy to our world.
If you enjoyed the presentation of Jesus’ birth come to life, join
us for the upcoming Boar’s Head & Yule Log
Festival on January 5 and 6. It is a spectacular
Renaissance inspired drama with beautiful music and stunning costumes. UCC has
presented this festival as a special gift to the
community since 1976. It is a wonderful
holiday tradition that we invite all to enjoy.
Plenty of free seats and limited reserved seating
available. Visit our website to learn more!
Welcome to University Christian Church, we’re glad you’re here!
The information in these margins will help guide you through worship. If
you have any questions, please ask a minister or
anyone with a name tag.
Red text is read by the congregation.
Asterisks (*) indicate times when you are
invited to stand. Feel free to remain seated if need be.
The Advent Wreath is a tradition that
symbolizes the passage of the four weeks of Advent, the time of
preparation for Christmas. On the first
Sunday of Advent a candle is lit, and an
additional candle is lit each subsequent week.
The candles represent Hope, Peace, Joy, and
Love. Today as we celebrate the birth of
Jesus, we light the Christ candle in the
center of the Advent Wreath.
The Lord’s Prayer is a prayer that Jesus taught his disciples. It asks God to help us be generous, thankful, and humble. We say this prayer together at the end of the Pastoral Prayer.
Faithful giving supports the ministries of our church and helps us develop generosity as a spiritual practice.
“A Carol Nativity” by Alfred V. Fedak, is a re-telling of the beloved Christmas Story as found in the gospel of Luke. Experience the joy of Christmas through scripture, carol singing, drama and organ music. Children of all ages enjoy seeing the story of Jesus’ birth come to life in this meaningful presentation.

All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
