Son of William and Euphemia Halbert of 4e William St, Coatbridge. Elder brother of Private Thomas Halbert of the 6th Battalion Kings Own Scottish Borderers who Died of Wounds on the 15/08/1918. In his Will George left all his property and effects to his mother. From the 1901 Census - Address - 41 Watts Land, New Monkland - William Halbert aged 45, Euphemia Halbert aged 40, James Halbert aged 13, William Halbert aged 12, George Halbert aged 9, Euphemia R Halbert aged 8, Thomas Halbert aged 4, Archibald Halbert aged 5 months, visitor Agnes Henderson aged 51. George's Pension was awarded to his mother Euphemia on the 25/10/1917.

Additional Information

George was killed during the 6th Seaforths attack on the German lines near Roclincourt during the Battle of Arras 9th/10th April 1917.
