February 10, 2019 Fifth Sunday In Ordinary Time Dear Friends in Christ, Thank you to all who made last week’s Family Mass a joyful celebration. From our 6th graders who hosted the mass, to our Parish Choir and Children’s Choir who enhanced the Sacred Liturgy with the gift of their song. Much thanks to our Hospitality Committee who set up and once again provided a delicious hot Sunday breakfast for all of us to enjoy. Our next Family Mass will take place on the SECOND Sunday of March, on March 10th. To update you all on our slightly damaged steeple…The Archdiocese has responded quickly with being on site, examining the damage and informing me of plans for the repair. As of now, it looks like a minor repair which will be done in the very near future. May I lead us all in congratulating Bea & Marty Sasin on their 73rd Wedding Anniversary on February 16th! What a blessing both Bea and Marty are to our parish

family. Bea involved with our Ministry of Lectors and Marty serving graciously as an usher at out 9:30 mass. We witness their love as well for our community with their involvement in so many activities, most recently with the Polar Bear Plunge last Sunday. May God continue to bless them both as they serve as strong witnesses to the Sacrament of Marriage. We were blessed this past week with a few ‘spring-like’ warmer days. It was nice to open windows even if just for a few hours to bring in some fresh air. We still have half a winter to go, but again those few days were greatly welcomed. Now that the football season is over, bring on baseball! Pitchers and catchers report in just a few days! - Rev. Herbert T. DeGaris

Sharing Christ is a 7 week series that shares with us ways to proclaim the Gospel through friendship, and to draw others into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have attended a previous Discovering Christ or Following Christ series, we invite you to join us. To register or for more information, please call Deacon George or Mariann Albin at 362-1982.

TAX INFORMATION 2018 If any parishioners require a contribution statement for income tax returns, please contact the rectory Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 786-2742.

FLOWER MEMORIALS

Flower memorials are available for anyone desiring to memorialize a loved one. The cost is $50 for an arrangement of flowers to be placed near the altar. Please call the rectory to reserve a specific date.

ATTENTION SNOW BIRDS In order to put a temporary hold on the mailing of your offertory envelopes and to save postage, we would appreciate you calling the Parish Office if you plan to be away more than one month this coming winter season. This will also prevent mistakes in our record keeping because the post office returns your envelopes to us when you are away. Many times we are not sure if you have moved or just away temporarily. Please leave your name, ID number and the months you would like to have your envelopes stopped.
