A MESSAGE FROM FATHER MONTY – Summer Ordinary Time After our celebration of the Most Holy Trinity and the Body and Blood of Christ, we return to the numbered Sundays of the year—the 30 or so weeks that reflect the rhythms of our lives, with peak moments and quiet times of growth. Bishop Persico has asked that on June 20, 2021, all parishes of the diocese of Erie observe the Year of St. Joseph by celebrating a Diocesan Day in Honor of St. Joseph. This day will take the place of the Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Next Sunday is Father’s Day and also the summer solstice. Why not invite a few friends or neighbors over and enjoy a picnic on the first day of Summer? Once the sun sets, turn on the outdoor twinkling lights and keep the party going! Why not buy some sparklers, to light up the shortest night of the year? Here is a prayer to mark the occasion: Jesus, thank you for summer. Thank you for light and warmth. Thank you for the sun. Thank you for the gifts of nature and for the annual cycles and seasons. Today, give us that grace again, to see you as the Creator, the One who lifts us up to be with you forever, even now. Amen. © PastoralPlanning.com, 2013. All rights reserved. Permission to
reproduce, post to web sites, e-mail to friends, and enjoy a lovely summer is granted! Source unknown. Adapted by Bill Huebsch, 2011.

QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK — God’s reign is unfolding In the second reading today, we heard the words:
“for we walk by faith, not by sight.” Question for Children: Have you ever had to walk in the dark with no light? How is that like walking by faith and not by sight? What did you have to do to keep going in the dark?
Question for Youth: Do you pray and ask for faith? How do you work on building your faith? Question for Adults: When do you find it hardest to have faith? Must you “see” answered prayer, or can you peacefully accept God’s will?
