MISSION STATEMENT: Immaculate Conception Parish is a Christian community of disciples in the Roman Catholic tradition, called by Jesus, united in Eucharistic worship and growing in faith, hope and love. Nourished through the sacraments and strengthened by God’s transforming love, we are empowered to know the gospel message and to witness to others. As Christian stewards, we are thankful for God’s many gifts and we commit ourselves to share our time, talent and treasure in Christ-like service within our parish community and beyond. We seek God’s blessing and guidance to be faithful to this mission.
Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 10, 2019
February 10, 2019 Fifth Sunday In Ordinary Time Dear Friends in Christ, Thank you to all who made last week’s Family Mass a joyful celebration. From our 6th graders who hosted the mass, to our Parish Choir and Children’s Choir who enhanced the Sacred Liturgy with the gift of their song. Much thanks to our Hospitality Committee who set up and once again provided a delicious hot Sunday breakfast for all of us to enjoy. Our next Family Mass will take place on the SECOND Sunday of March, on March 10th. To update you all on our slightly damaged steeple…The Archdiocese has responded quickly with being on site, examining the damage and informing me of plans for the repair. As of now, it looks like a minor repair which will be done in the very near future. May I lead us all in congratulating Bea & Marty Sasin on their 73rd Wedding Anniversary on February 16th! What a blessing both Bea and Marty are to our parish
family. Bea involved with our Ministry of Lectors and Marty serving graciously as an usher at out 9:30 mass. We witness their love as well for our community with their involvement in so many activities, most recently with the Polar Bear Plunge last Sunday. May God continue to bless them both as they serve as strong witnesses to the Sacrament of Marriage. We were blessed this past week with a few ‘spring-like’ warmer days. It was nice to open windows even if just for a few hours to bring in some fresh air. We still have half a winter to go, but again those few days were greatly welcomed. Now that the football season is over, bring on baseball! Pitchers and catchers report in just a few days! - Rev. Herbert T. DeGaris
