Your Mission
Link to Rubric
For this assignment, you will use this tutorial as an in-depth
look at the writing process and apply that process to
creating a narrative project.
Throughout this lesson, you will create your project step by
step, first by completing pre-writing requirements, next by
creating an outline for your project, and then by composing
a rough draft, which you will edit and revise before utilizing
to guide the publishing of your finished work.
Knowing the writing process will help you create organized
and clearly defined written work, prepare quality projects
such as podcasts or videos, and empower you to effectively
plan for any future projects that come your way, in school
and at your jobs.

Rough Draft
Assignments
At this stage it is important to get your ideas drafted, but it
is not important for the draft to be perfect.
During the revision process you will have an opportunity to
go back and make changes. Some things to consider while
crafting your rough draft:
Are my thoughts organized?
Which ideas will I develop?
What order do I want to tell my story?
Who can review this to provide feedback?
Toward the end of this project, you will use your rough draft
to guide the design and completion of your chosen final
product.
Please submit your
rough draft to
Turnitin.com by the due
date so it can be
reviewed by your peers
during the editing stage.

Turnitin
Reading the rough draft out loud is one tool some
writers use to help find mistakes and hear how
well the writing flows.
Some things you want to consider during this
stage include:
• Did I use complete sentences and correct
grammar and punctuation?
• Does the written product alight to the
requirements of the assignment?
• Did I mark and correct the items to be
changed?
• Did someone else review my work?

This week you will be required to do
peer edits on Turnitin.com. Peer
feedback helps you and your
classmates find out what really works
in your project, what needs
improvement. I will also provide
feedback.
Now it’s time to review what you have written to see if it makes sense.
