The Institute• Founded in January 2007, located in the heart of
Berlin/Germany• Vision: European educational work should aim at
fostering competences for personal growth and for enabling lifelong learning.
• We base our activities on the promotion of social equity and the acknowledgement of diversity by a critical-reflective embedding of gender & diversity into them
• Extensive experience in educational work: networks and partnerships with educational organisations all over Europe as well as many contacts to Berlin based companies
Working fields
• Preparation and organisation of working experiences for young Europeans
• Consulting, assistance and training in implementing Gender and diversity issues (Gender Mainstreaming) into educational projects and institutions
• Research, scientific consulting and evaluation of European educational projects in the fields of lifelong learning,
• Services for applicants, administrative management and evaluation of educational projects,
• Transfer of innovative aspects of European education, e.g. organisation of European study visits in Berlin
Mobility
• ILE-Berlin operates as sending and receiving organisation in the framework of Leonardo da Vinci mobility projects
• Partner institutions from the UK, Ireland, Spain, Greece, Turkey and Latvia
• Project acquisition and preparation of German students for their stay abroad
• Organising the stay of foreign participants in Berlin (language course, internship, accommodation,...)
• The cooperating enterprises and institutions in Berlin are very diverse and range from smaller organisations to worldwide operating companies
Gender and Diversity
Organisation of workshops for international participants about gender and cultural diversity in Europe • Various workshops about gender and diversity
aspects in one’s daily life and professional relationships
• Conceptual design and organisation of a workshop for experts from south-east Europe about gender & diversity management
