Detective chief superintendent Jasmin Sayed is heading up the newly founded project “Department for Nautic Crime 1 of the Water Police Berlin”, short WaPo Berlin, which was recently initiated by police commissioner Alexandra Falkenbach. Jasmin Sayed has put together the ideal team: First, there is Paula Sprenger, a Berlin original and childhood friend of Sayed. Wolf Malletzke, captain of the ship “Silber-möwe”, the calm centre and most senior officer of the team. Fahri Celik, the young gun, always full of energy and high spirits. And, completing the unit, detective applicant Marlene Weber, a brilliant com-puter expert. Further supporting roles go to German capitol Berlin and Stulle, a drug-sniffing dog in re-tirement that has claimed his spot under the wheel of the “Silbermöwe“. But as motley as this crew may be, they are undefeatable and stick together.

MARNoW MURDERS

Germany is melting under the sun – it is the hottest summer in years. Detectives Frank Elling, a devoted husband and father, and the aloof Lona Mendt are on the trail of a serial murderer, who seems to choose his victims randomly. But nothing is as it seems. The detectives have apparently made some powerful enemies that will do everything in their power to keep the truth from coming to light. The further along with their investigation, the bigger the obstacles become.When they come under pressure, Elling and Mendt make some dubiousmoral choices of their own: the debt-ridden Elling is presented with a tempting bribe and Mendt is having an affair with a subordinate, her young colleague Sören Jasper. When they dig deeper into the gruesome murders, though, the detectives discover evidence of a long-forgotten and hushed up pharmacological scandal, which brings them to the sleepy lake-side town of Marnow, deep in the former GDR.

Meanwhile Arthur hires Vietnamese nurse Lani to help him get around, and Klemens falls for her. Everything seems to fall into place - that is, everything except for Martin, Lani’s boyfriend and the reason for her moving to Germany in the first place.
