Co-Chairman's Message

Electronics has been widening its field of

application beyond the information, to general

areas: lighting, motors for automobiles and small

consumer electronics. The society is benefitted

from it with energy saving and getting solutions

for the environment problems. Engineering of

EMC could be one of the key tenus to achieve

feasible solutions, and this conference will

promote engineers and scientist to enhance their

level of knowledge through the exchange of their

expenences.

Xi' An is famous as one of the eldest city having the history ofmore than 3000

years since Zhou Dynasty., though civilizations before that is believed to have existed

but not clear. I find deep significance that engineers of various districts with different

culture come together and talk on their common interest. This event is comparable to

the markets in Early-Han Dynasty, where traders and engineers came from near eastern

Asia and exchanged their properties as well as knowledge associated with them. I

expect this opportunity could yield much fruit from the communications between

audiences.

Shall we appreciate ancient relics exhibited here in Xi' An and become stimulated

by allowing imagination how old engineers could developed them.
