    SNP agrees to joint action of opposition

    Main Board of the SNP has authorized the party President Sran Mili to sign a joint statement of the SNP, NSD and PZP regarding the possibility of forming abasis for defining the program of joint action of the opposition on the forthcominglocal elections.

    Main Board of SNP has accepted the proposal of the other opposition parties tobase future coalition agreements upon results of parliamentary elections fromMarch 2009.

    The leader of SNP Sran Mili said he will resign his MP position in the next fewdays, according to his earlier announcements.

    Simovi will sue Medojevi

    Minister of Agriculture Milutin Simovi announced that he will sue the leader ofthe PzP Neboja Medojevi because of the statements concerning alleged

    meeting of Simovi

    and Darko

    "If there was some credible information, that he was specifically locatedsomewhere, we would not be talking on this subject today, because he wouldhave already been arrested", said Oparnica in response to the questionconcerning the news published Montenegrin media that ari has fled toSwitzerland.

    ECONOMY

    Average earnings in January 471 euro

    Average earnings in January 2010, without taxes and contributions, amounted to471 euro, reports Montenegrin Statistical Office (MONSTAT).

    Compared to the average earnings in December last year, a growth of 0.2percent was recorded.

    Viewed by sectors, lowest average earnings in January were 232 euros in thefisheries sector, while the highest were in the sector of financial intermediation,and amounted to 858 euros.

    PZP: Ad-hoc Committee for energy issues

    PzP has submitted an initiative for the formation of a inquiring committee to dealwith issues in the Montenegrin energy sector.

    Vice president of PzP Branko Radulovi doubts that the consultative hearingconcerning energy issues scheduled for Thursday at the initiative of the SDP willoffer anything new to the Montenegrin public, and considers it essential that aspecial body should deal with issues from energy sector.

    The initiative PZP states that such a committee should receive obtain andanalyze the contract with the Italian company A2A, technical-economic situationin Montenegrin Electric Enterprise, and planned activities for the next five years.In addition to this, the focus will be on Regulation of tariffs for electricity,commercial agreements, price and quantities of supplied electricity, as well as

    the claims of large consumers such as Aluminum Combine and Steel Plant.

    EU INTEGRATION

    The new questions from the EC in March

    Montenegrin Government expects a new set of questions from the EuropeanCommission (EC), within the process of answering the Questionnaire, in thesecond half of March, announced the Minister for European Integration GordanaDjurovic on the session of the Parliamentary Committee on InternationalRelations and European Integration.

    The Committee accepted the reports on fulfillment of obligations under theAgreement on Stabilization and Association Agreement for December 2009 andJanuary this year. Besides a new set of questions, urovi announced the arrivalof new missions in Brussels. Noting that the EC mission for human rights hasalready visited Montenegro, urovi announced the arrival of the mission forprevention of money laundering and terrorism financing policy for Monday andTuesday.

    Three missions, concerned with the rule of law, citizenship, statistics and financewill also visit Montenegro in March, said urovi. She added that the arrival ofmissions for customs service and some areas of the economy can also beexpected.

    urovi said that eventual opening of negotiations with Montenegro should beginwith chapters relating to the judiciary, fundamental rights and freedoms anddomestic policy, so that Montenegro can show that it has nothing to hide.

    She hopes that the responses to additional questions of the EC will be completed

    until mid-year along with the draft opinion (avis), and that Montenegro will receivethe candidate status for EU membership by the end of the year. That dynamicswould allow the negotiation process to begin early next year.

    Committee members stressed that the role of the Parliament in the future of theprocess of European integration should be made more visible, effective andinstitutionalized.

    urovi reiterated that the answers to the Questionnaire were not made publicbecause the Ministry is waiting for the whole process of answering the ECquestions to be completed.
