Bless your heart for joining the Pioneer Church family in worship this morning. Thank you so much for coming and may God meet your deep-est inner needs. If you are not part of a worship community we would be pleased for you to consider joining our family. As the man of God, Moses once told Hobab, his brother-in-law, "Come with us and we will share with you whatever good things the Lord gives us (Num. 10.32)." So we welcome you today.
We particularly welcome to our worship those who are here for the Insti-tute of World Mission. May God bless each of you, and may He inspire the rest of us to faithfully share Jesus with others.—John Glass

Fellowship Dinner
Fellowship Dinner
JULY 14, 2018 5
Exciting changes are happening with Pioneer Memorial Church’s visitor fellowship dinner ministry. Several
adult Sabbath School classes have either formed a new team or joined a team that is already active to serve as hosts. Members of these classes responded to an appeal by the Sabbath School leaders, suggesting that, as part of fellowship development in the Sabbath School, classes rotate in hosting the potlucks for our visitors and members who attend the meals from week to week.
If you are not familiar with the Fel-lowship Dinner ministry, teams are made up of from 8 to 15 members. These teams take turns throughout the year planning and serving meals in the Commons to our visitors and members who need the service. A team leader coordinates the process of planning the meal and orga-nizing the team to bring the food. The team leader also helps with preparation, set-up of the dining room, welcoming guests, enjoying the meal together, and cleaning up after the meal. Their goal
is to provide a welcoming, warm, and friendly atmosphere for those attending, to let them know that we care about them. They want them to feel the joy of fellow-shipping together on the Sabbath over a nice home-cooked meal.
Team members are blessed as much or more in hosting the dinners, as are those who attend the meal. A bond of fellowship develops among them. They share their life experiences with one another and work together towards a common goal of hospitality to those who join the meal.
The time commitment is relatively small, with teams committing to serve 2-3 times a year. If your class is not involved yet, or you, personally, are not involved but would like to join a team, you may e-mail Bennett Chilson, [email protected] or call 269.473.5077. Just so you know, cooking skills are not necessary to join this ministry. Everyone is welcome, so come along. It is a wonderful journey.
Bennett Chilson is the director of the Fellowship Dinner ministry here at Pioneer.

JULY 14, 2018 7
Isaac Watts' "Jesus Shall Reign Where'er the Sun" is grandly expansive. Com-mentator Kenneth Osbeck observes,
"When this stirring hymn was written, . . . the evangelical missionary movement that we know . . . had scarcely begun. . . . Isaac Watts was certainly quite prophetic when he paraphrased this text from Psalm 72. It is still considered one of the finest mis-sionary hymns ever written and has been
sung in countless native tongues." Watts' original included additional stanzas with thoughts such as, "From north and south the princes meet To pay their homage at His feet, While western empires own their Lord . . ." Today we might conceive quite differently the identities of some of the princes and the empires than Watts would have, but the factor of resplendent homage to Jesus shines still.

The Michigan Conference of SDA's has an active women's ministry. One of the high impact and fun events that this ministry supports is a Women's Retreat. Typically, it's held at Camp Au Sable in April. The 2017 Retreat topics included the following: "The Challenges of Care Giving," "Prayer, Faith & Beauty," "Quick Soups & Five-Minute Bread," "Nutrition Gardening," and "Hydrotherapy: Treating Our Most Common Ailments with Our Most Abundant Resource." This ministry cares for women of all ages. New health concepts are taught; cooking ideas are demonstrated; and faith-building worships are enjoyed; all with the wonderful unique perspective of women. Support this ministry today through your faithful offerings.
