HybridITprovidesamanagedecosystemofproviders,resources,andtools.SuccessfulHybridITdeploymentrequiresmanagingandop<mizingsystemsofrecordandsystemsofengagementwhileensuringnewbusinessrequirementscanbemet.ThispaperprovidesanoverviewofhybridIT,brokeragesystemexamples,andbusinesslinkage.Seriesziscoveredaswellasmidrangesystems.Specificcomponentsforthetransi<ontoanddeliveryofahybridcloudareexplored.Finally,bestprac<cesforhybridcloudusabilityu<lizingaggrega<on,integra<on,andcustomiza<oncapabili<esareoutlined.

• ThestrategyforenterpriseITwillbetoenabledifferentcloudenvironmentsacrossthecomputelandscapeandgraduallyenabletheenterpriseapplica3onstotakeadvantageofthisdisparateenvironmentviaopenAPIinterfacesandmanagement.
• HybridITisanend-to-endplaQormforconsumingITservicessecurelyandconveniently.Byu3lizingstandardinterfaces,servicescanbecombinedandtreatedasblackboxbytheapplica3onowner,allowinginfrastructure,database,orapplica3onservicestobeconsumedas-needed.Here,HybridITrequiresbrokerageasacentralplaQorm,withagovernanceanddecisionframeworkforconsumingservices.
• ThisenvironmentnaturallyleadstoITaaS,whichisthetransforma3onpost-technologyintoabusinessservice–u3lizingaserviceandconsump3onmodelforthebusinessusersoftheenvironment.

• TheHybridITBrokerconsidersthetypeofworkloadandproposesthebestfijngtargetcloud(tradi3onal,privateandpubliccloud)aswellasmigra3onscenario.Thefollowingpictureoutlinesthemostcommoncloudusecasesandtheirmigra3onscenarios.

• CombinedWorkloadViewassumesaworkloadisonlymigratedtothecloudifallitsimagescanbemigrated.Workloadswithcommonimagesareonlymigratedtogether,i.e.ifoneworkloadcannotbemigrated,neithercananyoftheworkloadsthatsharethecommonimagewiththisworkload.
Intheself-servicefashion,outsourcedcustomerswouldliketouseanintegratedportalasmainpointofentryfortheirworkloaddiscoveryandmigra3on.Inasimpleworldthecustomerswouldbegiventheabilitytouploadaflat-filebasedimagefromhisworkload.IndustrystandardwouldbetheOpenVirtualiza3onFormat(OVF),whichsupportsV2VfromdifferenthypervisorsplusalsoP2Vtransforma3ons.TheOVFcontainsthemetadatainforma3onoftheVMplustheactualvirtualdisks.Byanalyzingthemetainforma3on(VMvirtualhardwaresizingplusplaQorm)andtheactualcontentintheVDISKtheHybridITBrokerwouldhavetheabilitytomakeajus3fieddecisionwhatthemostsuitabletargetplaQorm(Graf,2015).
