– Prioritizing and escalating of communications restorations with carriers in impacted counties

– 800 MHz State Law Enforcement Radio System SLERS is 98% operational w/ wide area connectivity. 2%-reduced coverage

– 4 sites reduced coverage but operational • 1. Meacham in NW Escambia Co (Tower top amplifier failure,

UPS failure, tilted antennas)• 2. Leemo in S. Escambia (antenna tilted)• 3. Santa in N Santa Rosa Co (antenna tilted)• 4. Pensacola in Escambia Co (antenna tilted)

OK-1 at Sacred Heart Hospital (all Escambia county)• 2 teams staged for multi-state response• 12 teams on alert for multi-state response

– Deployed 145 professional staff and 2 community assessment teams (CATs) to affected areas.

– 1 Epidemiology team deployed to conduct study of Special Needs Shelters

– 1 NDMS Specialty Team and 56 NDMS/HHS staff augmentees deployed at Sacred Heart Hospital

– 2 Special Needs Shelters (Escambia and Santa Rosa) open with approximately 212 residents as of 9/20/2004 4:00pm.

– 18 medical facilities evacuated 368 patients as of 9/20/2004 12:00pm– Continuing to arrange EMS support for Escambia and Santa Rosa

Counties– Additional deployed resources: Escambia (363 oxygen canisters,

702 portalets, 44 dumpsters, 800 DEET cans, 18 EMS units), Santa Rosa (896 oxygen canisters, 101 portalets, 32 dumpsters, 4 EMS units), Okaloosa (578 oxygen canisters).

Power– Ivan:

• Estimated 188,712 customers without power.• Outage data can be found in Tracker # 997.• 5,400 plus repair personnel are tasked to the

Panhandle to help in restoring the outages of Ivan.• Damage assessments continue.

• Current Operations (continued) –Fuel– Three major ports are open, recieving ships and filling tankers.– More than 152.0 million gallons in state for distribution.– Over the next 72 hours, there are 78.2 million gallons for distribution

(53.0 million gallons Atlantic Ports and 25.2 million gallons to Port of Tampa and Orlando). Supplies are being augmented by tanker trucks from Ports of Jacksonville and Everglades.

– Over the next 9 days, there are 168.2 million gallons with the majority having already arrived.

– Over 1,227 delivery trucks are available.– 235,000 gallons of diesel has arrived in Sanford and Tampa via rail.

The product is being distributed. The 2nd. train arrived in Sanford on 9/16 @ 9:00 pm. The train had 570,000 gallons of diesel and 114,000 gallons of unleaded for distribution to first responders.

– Fuel supply to the Panhandle by truck from ports and tank farms in FL, GA. & St. Marks. Truck supply from Mobile is on hold until they come back on line.

– Natural Gas:• Minor leaks have been reported. All of them have been repaired.

– HSUS, Florida Animal Control Association, University of Florida/IFAS Extension, University of Florida/College of Veterinary Medicine, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, USDA/ Veterinary Services, USDA/Wildlife Services, USDA/PPQ all participating in ESF17 State Agricultural Response Team (SART)

– In contact with all County ESF17 Coordinators in impact area– VMAT #3 on standby– Over 90 site assessments have been conducted in Santa Rosa,

Escambia, Bay, Washington, Walton, Gulf, Okaloosa, Gadsden, Bay, Holmes, Jackson and Calhoun counties

– Contacts with commercial producers report: 80,000 bird deaths total at multiple Perdue sites. Preferred Pets of Santa Rosa County (exotic bird hatchery) suffered major structural damage and lost of over 20,000 birds
