    ICARE2012Tuesday6thtoFriday9thDecemberDear Parents,

ICARE is fast approaching and we would like to take a moment to remind you of some key points.

ICARE is experiential learning at its best and is an important part of ISMs mission and core values.

Considerable preparation is made before ICARE, including full ISM security inspection of each site, meetings with

service partners and detailed planning with ICARE chaperones.

As the ICARE Coordinator, I would like to publically thank all of you parents for supporting the program and the

valuable work we do in the community.

In preparation, your child has spent designated time in ICARE homerooms learning more about their site and

bonding with the other members in the group. By deliberately diversifying ICARE groups, your child will have the

opportunity to work with a broader range of students, learn to plan, collaborate and engage in the particular issues

    of each site.

Every ICARE experience is unique; what we ask is that all students be adaptive, creative and committed to the ethos

of ICARE throughout the four days. At the culmination of ICARE we hope that every child will have learnt more abou

some of the challenges in the Philippines, and how they as individuals, and collectively, can engage in positivechange.

When you receive the information about your childs site, please read it carefully, and return medical and permission

forms promptly to the chaperones in charge.

In additional, please be reminded that departure times maybe different from a usual school day, and that punctual

arrival is essential. Attendance at ICARE is treated as a normal school day in regards to, sickness, absence and

    tardies.

Finally, all students on Metro sites will be completed by 2.30 to 3.00pm on Friday the 9 th December. Those travelling

from the provinces should be back by 5.00pm at the latest, although this is subject to traffic.

If you have any questions or concern please contact me,
