Divine Mercy Sunday Sunday, June 7th, 2020

Trinity Sunday

From The Pastor’s Pen - With Premier Ford's announcement this week about the

reopening of our churches, I ask for everyone's paence as we do this because

how we go about congregang is going to be very different than before the places

of worship were closed.

As we move towards reopening on the weekend of June 20-21, the following pri-

ories guide our planning, and I am quong Bishop Fabbro:

-the health and safety of the faithful, clergy, staff and volunteers;

-Proacve measures to avoid the potenal of a second wave of this virus;

-Recognizing the fundamental commandment—a love of God and neighbour—we

have a responsibility to care for one another and protect our communies.

While I write this, we do not as yet have the final plan from our diocese. Howev-

er, we do know that only 30% of the Church's capacity can be used. We can ex-

pect social distancing to be in place, and places marked where people can sit. Up-

on entering and leaving the Church, it will be the expectaon that everyone will

sanize their hands. All hymn books and missals and any other leaflets will be

removed before we reopen. In the aisles, the floor will be marked to indicate 6'

distancing to give sufficient space as people enter and exit the Church and for the

communion procession. Everyone will wear masks and each of us will supply our

own. Holy water fonts will be empty. If you want water blessed, please bring

your own bo=led water, and we will bless it. This list is not exhausve, but it rep-

resents what we can expect. We are expecng the final plan soon.

Reminder for those who are elderly or whose immune system is compromised,

and those who are hesitant to return to church at this me, or those who not

make it, please know that the obligaon to parcipate at Sunday Mass is suspend-

ed for as long as necessary unl we open to capacity.
