What is IFTTT?
IFTTT =
IF THIS THEN THAT
IFTTT is a free web-based service.
It allows users to create chains of simple
conditional statements, called “RECIPES“.
Reduces tasks, such as posting the same content on several
social networks.
Marketing professionals can use IFTTT to track
mentions of companies in real-time in
RSS feeds.
What is a Recipe in IFTTT?
A recipe is the name given to the pairing of
a trigger and an action.

How does IFTTT work?
Open internet browser and type www.ifttt.com
Click Sign Up to register.
Type your email address and password.
Click Create account.
This will appear if account is successfully
created.
Click THIS to get started.
Let’s try Recipe for the Home.
Saving uploaded Instagram Photos to
Dropbox
RECIPE
List us use Recommended Recipe.
Log in to this channels or create an account.
Click Connect to start with the Instagram.
You will be directed to Request access with Instagram account.
This will link you to Log in menu of Instagram.
Enter Username and Password, then click Log
in.
Once Logged in, Click Authorize button.
Ensure that the linked Instagram is your account.
Instagram is now connected! Click Done
button.
For recipe to work, we need to connect
to Dropbox.
Click Connect button.
Type Username and Password.
Then click Sign in.
For IFTTT to access Dropbox, Click Allow.
Click Done.
IFTTT is now connected to Dropbox.
Once added, it will now appear in your recipe
menu.
Your IFTTT folder will appear in Dropbox.
If you wish to stop this Recipe, you can turn it off.
You can Check, Edit or View Recipe Logs.
Remember, you only created IFTTT for PHOTOS.
It means that a video or other files apart from PHOTOS will not be
captured by the conditions of IFTTT.
Let us create another recipe.
Facebook page photo to connect directly to Twitter.
RECIPE
.Open your account name and Click Create.
Click THIS.
Click Create Trigger.
Click back, if you go back to previous step.
“this” is done, now click “that”.
Choose Action Channel.
We now have the desired Channel, Click Twitter.
We choose post a tweet with image.
Caption on Facebook page appears on Twitter.
Facebook page image source appears on Twitter.
If done, click Create Action.
New Recipe is created.
If Marketing Gem uploads new photo,
then Twitter captures and post the same.
We can use IFTTT with Gmail too!
Starred or labeled email can be saved to Dropbox or Evernote.
Step 1, click Gmail.
Click Connect.
IFTTT will direct to Gmail for
authentication of
account.
Note that you need to check if the account for
authentication is your own account.
If it is a different account, you need
to LOG-OUT.
You will be prompted to
LOG-IN to your account.
Click Allow.
Gmail is connected, Click Done.
Click Continue to the next step.
We need to choose a Trigger.
Click “New starred email in inbox”.
Click Create Trigger.
If Starred Gmail, then save to Dropbox.
Let’s try with Dropbox
Choose desired action.
Click Add file from URL.
Click Create Action
.
Click Create Recipe to
finish.
New Recipe is added.
You can publish Recipes created.
