Moodleallowsinstructorstouploadfilesintoitsdatabaseforfutureuse.ThisarticleshowshowtouploadfilestoyourMoodlecoursespace.YoucanaccessthefilesthatareinyourcoursespacebyclickingontheFileslinkundertheAdministrationBlock.Studentsdonothaveaccesstothesefilesuntilyoucreatealinktothesefilesfromthefrontpageofthecourse.Moodleallowsyouuploadonefileatatime.Pleaselookbelowforstepstouploadacompressed.ZIPfilewhichcomesinhandywhenwantingtouploadmultiplefiles.1.LogintoMoodleandselectthecourse.2.ClicktheFileslinkunderAdministration.
3.ClicktheUploadafilebutton.
4.ClicktheBrowsebutton.
5.Selectthefiletoupload,thenclickOpentocontinue.Note:Userscanonlyuploadsingleindividualfilesorcompressed.ZIPfiles.Onceuploaded,Moodleallowsuserstounzipthese.ZIPfilesandturnthemintotheirownseparatefolderthatcanbeusedincontentcreationsuchasDisplayingafilefolderorAddalightboxgallery.
6.ClicktheUploadthisfilebuttontocontinue.
7.Onceuploaded,Moodlewillgiveyouaconfirmationmessageatthetopofthescreenandtheuploadfileorfolderwillappearamongtheotherfilesandfolderswiththedateandtimeofupload.AtthispointthefilehasbeenuploadedandisinMoodle'sdatabase.Steps8‐10arespecificallyinregardsto.ZIPfiles.
8.Usershavetheoptionofunzippinguploaded.ZIPfilesatanypointandtimebyclickingtheUnziplinknexttothe.ZIPfileshownintheimageinstep7.Note:Thishastobedoneinordertousethecompressedfilesincontentcreation.Thecurrentsinglefileuploadlimitis500MB.9.Moodlewillthenunzipthefilesandplacethemintoafolderwiththesamenameasthe.ZIPfile.Oncethisisdone,clickOKtocontinue.
10.Thenewunzippedfolderwillappearamongtheotherfilesinthedatabaseandcanbeusedincontentcreation,especiallyanythingthatinvolvesusinganuploadeddirectorywhichismoreorlessapredefinedfolderwithspecificfilesinit.Note:The.ZIPfilewillstillremaininthedatabaseafterbeingunzipped.Itwillhavetobemanuallydeleted.
