yourself. When you were a kid did you know who the Avon lady or

Tupperware seller was in your town? Most likely you did because

they branded themselves. They made it known who they were and

what service they offered.

The more people that know about you the more money you

make, right? Make sure that have a strong online presence as well

as locally. The more times Google finds your business listed the

higher it ranks you! Don't forget to use your products when you give

gifts.

When it is Christmas time and I need a special gift you need

to make sure I know that you have what I need and where to find

own website or blog. Why would you share the

same link your competition does? And what do

you do when Facebook blocks your business

link? You need your own domain name to brand

yourself. Make it simple and easy to remember.

You can search for names at Go Daddy and get

cheap web hosting. Every time you post the link

to your website the search engines find it and

add it to your total ranking. More links mean a

higher ranking! If you can post a status update

with a photo on Facebook you can run your own

blog! The search engines love Blogs! Every time

you make a post the search engines come to

see what is new. Do you Twitter? Your blog can!

Facebook Groups: Advertising in Facebook groups can be very effective. If you are always

branding yourself you will be posting the link to your website in every group you can find that

matches your business.

More links = higher ranking.

Events, Expos, Trade Shows and Fundraisers are a great

way to make yourself a part of your community. Setup a booth at

your local shows. These are a great way to get your name out

there.

Make sample bags with business cards. Have a contest

where you get peoples email address and phone number for a

prize. Don't worry if you don't have a ton of inventory on hand. Use

a tablet or your laptop and take orders for customers or let them do

their own. Use the time to brand yourself as well. Visit the other

vendors booths and introduce yourself.

Ask schools, churches, etc if they would like to do a

fundraiser. Make awesome hostess packets to hand out when

people ask you for info.

Next, Make Friends! Did you know there are a ton of ladies in

your community that are new to town and don't know anybody?

Post an ISO: New Friends on your local Facebook group and see

how many responses you get!

Setup a potluck at a local park to meet new people. Don't

forget to be a billboard.

Social Media:

Facebook: Make sure you have a Facebook page for your business. You can post updates,

new and discontinued products, ads and specials. Make events to build your team.

Twitter: Do you tweet? You should! If you have a website or blog you can set it to

automatically post to twitter for you. You should post to Twitter at least once a week.

Linkedin is a great tool in the business world. Another part of branding yourself. Make sure

you have a page for your business and your profile filled out completely.

Google Plus: Share and discover the products you use every day

Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service.

Pinterest is a visual bookmarking tool that helps you discover and save creative ideas.

YouTube: People LOVE videos! Make short videos demo-ing your products! You won't

believe how much this will help with branding yourself!

Meetup is neighbors getting together to learn something, do something, share something. A

great way to brand yourself locally. Meet people with the same interests as you.

Snapchat: Neat little app that lets you take pics, add text and graphics and upload. Great for

branding yourself.

Tumblr is so easy to use that it's hard to explain. They made it really, really simple for people

to make a blog and put whatever they want on it. Stories, photos, GIFs, etc.

Locally: There are so many things you can do to brand your

self locally. First is yourself. You should be a walking billboard.

Shirts, Hats, and Car Magnets can all be used to make sure

everyone knows who you are. VistaPrint has very reasonable prices

on everything you need for your business.

Call your local Welcome Wagon and ask if you can include

samples and a catalog. Local motels may let you leave catalogs in

their lobby. Leave business cards everywhere! Make flyers for

bulletin boards at post offices, gas stations and stores. Buy an ad in

your schools yearbook. Post a contest on your local Buy/Sell/Trade

Facebook group to nominate a business for a gift basket of donuts,

samples and catalogs. This really works! Donate gift baskets to

your local charities to use as door prizes. Make goodies for your

local radio stations with your business card attached for a Shoutout.

Start a class! Teach others how to go into business for

themselves!

Be Prepared! You should always have inventory on hand.

411 is the web's leading directory of contact info for people and businesses. Phone

numbers, addresses, yellow pages, and more.

Anywho s a free service that allows you to search the White Pages by name, or, enter a

phone number and find out who owns it using reverse phone lookup.

Yellowpages local search connects you with over 19 million local businesses. Find people

and find the right business and get things done!

Dmoz Searchable people-reviewed web directory categorized by language, subject and

location.

Be a Professional! Know your target audience: stay at home

moms, real estate agents, beauty salon owners, restaurant owners,

etc.

Capture leads every chance you get. Be a leader. Grow your

network. Make daily contacts. Make a script and practice it so it

sounds natural.

Build relationships and trust. Remember peoples names.

Use email signatures. Provide Good Customer Service.

Accept Credit Cards! This is easy to do thru Paypal. Your

customers can pay you thru a link you setup or straight to your

email address.

Make a team name. Have a Hostess Coaching Program.

Always Be Closing! Ask for the sale.

to your business. If you get on Facebook to

work and start by looking at your newsfeed the

next thing you know you've wasted an hour you

could have been promoting your business.

You need to be organized to be efficient. A

daily planner is a great investment in your
