How to install Sibelius 6 Music Notation Software 2/8/2011 Sorenson Center for the Arts Babson College

To Install Sibelius on Windows:

1. Go to ‘My Computer’

2. Double click ‘Community on babson.edu\files’ (The (K: ) Drive)

3. Then double click on ‘APPS’

4. Next, double click the ‘Sibelius’ folder

5. Double click on the ‘InstallSibelius.exe’ file, and download it. The .exe file should open

automatically. Select the language that you would like the program to operate in, click ok, and

then follow the wizard’s instructions.

6. Double click the ‘SibeliusInstall.cmd’ and download it.

7. Last but not least, you will need to check out the license for up to 90 days on Windows:

Inside Sibelius, go to the Help menu Check out License… and select the number of days to

check out.

8. NOTE: There are 10 concurrent campus licenses for Sibelius, including a maximum of five for

checking out. Licenses may be checked out for up to 90 days, and while they are checked out,

will count against that concurrent licensing count.

9. The installation is now complete!

To install Sibelius on Mac:

1. In Finder, go to the Go Menu Connect to Server

2. Type in smb://fileshare1.babson.edu/Community/APPS/Sibelius

3. When it asks for username, put in BABSON\your_username and your password is your Babson

password.

4. Double-click on the Babson Sibelius Installer.dmg

5. Double-click on “1. Install Sibelius 6” and follow the prompts.

6. Double-click on “2. Install Sibelius License” and follow the prompts.

7. To check out the license for up to 90 days on Mac:

Inside Sibelius, go to Help menu Check out License… and select the number of days to

check out.
