The project had increased the capacity of the Enel Maritza East 3 thermal power plant to 908 MW, improved its efficiency, extended its operational life by 15 years and brought it into compliance with the European Environmental Standards. Since December 2009, the power plant is certified according to the ISO 14001:2004 attesting it operates in line with the world’s best environmental management practices.
