What is a scatter?
Collection of points (called route checks [RCs]) “scattered” over the map.
You are provided with clues which, when solved, give the location of these points.
You are also given a sheet with a simple question for each point.
Once you've solved some clues, go to those places and answer the questions to prove you were there.

Extra details
Some RCs are worth more – usually those further away or with harder clues.
Choose your route carefully – lots of tactics!
You must be at the finish on time, otherwise you are disqualified. Aim to be a little early just in case you get stuck behind a Nissan Micra doing 20mph on your way to the finish...

A map and 'romer' (available at the start)
A pencil (and probably a rubber...)
Some way to tell the time (watch, phone, in-dash clock...)
A torch (to find the answers at dark RCs)
