How to Create a Twitter List

Lists are a great way to tailor the information you want to read on Twitter when you feel like you follow too many people, newsrooms and brands.

1. Click on the “Me” link in the top left-hand corner of Twitter.

2. Go to the “Lists” link on the left hand side of the screen.

3. In the middle of the screen, click on the “Create List”

button.

4. Choose a name for the list and give it a short description. You can choose to make the list public for anyone to see and follow, or private, so only you can see the content in the list. Twitter users who are added to a public list will get a notification in their “@Content” section of Twitter.

5. Now you can start building your list. There are multiple

ways to add Twitter accounts to a list. a. Search Twitter for the topic.

b. Look at accounts you already follow. c. Look through other Twitter accounts you like and

see what accounts it follows. 6. When you find an account you want to add into your list,

go to that Twitter page and look for a little icon of a person’s head.

7. Click on the head link and look for the “Add or remove from lists…” link.

8. Twitter gives you the option to add the account to an existing list or create a new one if none of your existing lists fit the account.

a. If you want to add the account into an existing Twitter list, click on the check mark next to the account you pick and hit the little ‘X’ in the upper right corner of the box to close it.

9. Once you add accounts into your lists, you can track those accounts by visiting your “Me” page and clicking on the Lists section.

a. Click on each list to enjoy the collection of topics instead of reading all of the accounts you follow at the same time.
