The global hospital supplies market was valued at $XX billion in 2011 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of XX% during 2011-2018, to reach $XX billion by 2018. The major contributor in the growth of hospital supplies market will be increased adoption of disposable hospital supplies across the world. Increased concern about Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs), their prevention, control and management have fueled the demand for single-use products. The governments in developed countries are encouraging the use of disposable hospital supplies in order to contain the healthcare costs incurred in treating HAIs. This trend has also resulted in increased adoption of single-use syringes and needles across the world. The growing level of concern about HAIs is driving the sterilization and disinfectant market as well.
Factors such as an increase in the percentage of elderly people in the population, improvements in healthcare infrastructure, government initiatives in emerging countries to provide better healthcare facilities, technological advances such as the introduction of specialized operating room tables, Light-Emitting Diode (LED) lights for operating rooms, pre-filled syringes, plastic syringes, single-use syringes, and digital thermometers are also expected to drive the hospital supplies market’s growth.
The global hospital supplies market was valued at $XX billion in 2011 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of XX% during 2011–2018, to reach $XX billion by 2018.

Hospital supplies are medical equipment and consumables that are used in hospitals and clinics for treatment, transportation, disinfection and preliminary diagnosis of patients. Hospital supplies include medical products such as gowns, drapes, gloves, procedure trays, operating room tables, operating room lights, needles syringes, thermometers, stethoscopes, stretchers, wheel chairs, sterilization equipment and syringes and needles
The increasing emphasis on combating Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs), an increase in percentage of elderly people in populations worldwide, the standard upgrades of existing hospitals, a rise in the number of hospitals and the growing number of surgical procedures have all increased the importance of hospital supplies and the way they are used. There have been advancements in technology which have improved the functionality of hospital supplies, resulting in increased adoption of hospital supplies such as needles and syringes, gloves, drapes and gowns. Almost all procedures in hospitals involve some type of hospital supplies, underlining the importance of the hospital supplies market.
