Category Overview

Core Office As our brand suggests, OfficeMax is best known

as a provider of stationery and office products.

This has formed the backbone of our business

and remains a key component of our offer,

despite a gradual decline in usage across the

industry. To generate added savings we have

developed the OfficeMax home brand range

with over 1,300 SKUs. To assist customers with

their sustainability goals, we also developed the

EcoMax range of more than 4,000 products,

which are either made of at least 30% recycled

content, or feature a recognised environmental

label such as FSC, Carbon Neutral Product, or

Environmental Choice New Zealand. OfficeMax

supplies a majority of corporate and government

accounts including Air New Zealand, ASB, ACC,

and Mitre 10.

Safety OfficeMax is an emerging competitor in this

market and we have steadily grown our Safety

offering in recent years. Our extensive sales

force and market-leading distribution capabilities

give us a strong point of difference, backed up

by a growing team of industry experts and

numerous flagship customers. Our service

model provides great flexibility; at the local level,

our 16 retail shops can stock size-specific

products and allow your staff to try on items in-

store, eliminating the admin associated with

returns for wrong size products. Some of our

key accounts in this space include the NZ Post

Group, Vector, and Genesis Energy.

Packaging OfficeMax has supplied packaging products for

over 20 years, providing customised solutions to

warehouses, factories, and workshops across

New Zealand. We have the ability to code and

stock products specifically for you in addition to

the wide range of brands currently available. We

understand the need for a nuanced approach

with this category, and can work with you to trial

various solutions and recommend process

improvements to reduce cost. Key accounts

include Briscoes, Cotton On, and Pharmapac.

Fresh Milk Deliveries An important part of our Café solution, Milk is a

key value add for OfficeMax because of our

ability to consolidate billing into a single monthly

invoice. Our buying power provides access to

the sharpest market pricing, and we can meet

diverse scheduling and delivery requirements on

a national scale, simplifying a tedious category

while delivering savings. Flagship accounts

include the Ministry of Social Development,

Christchurch City Council, and Beca.

Fresh Fruit Deliveries As part of the ongoing growth in demand from

our customers, as part of a healthy option for

health and wellness, OfficeMax now have a

Fresh Fruit delivery offer for our customers.

Boxes of seasonal fruit can be delivered to your

location, providing access to fresh fruit for your

staff.

Hygiene OfficeMax provides an extensive range of

hygiene consumables through partnerships with

Tork and Kimberley Clark, as well as an

OfficeMax home brand to offer both premium

quality and cost saving options. We offer free

on-loan dispensers and install across New

Zealand. In addition to paper consumables, we

also supply cleaning chemicals and equipment

through our home brand range, as well as

partnerships with EcoLab and Diversey. Key

accounts in this space include Lollipops

Educare, University of Waikato, and Ports of

Auckland.

Café We offer a comprehensive solution for café

which includes both coffee machine hardware

and daily consumables. The consumable range

covers tin & spoon coffee and tea, hot

chocolate, milo, sugar, soups, snacks, fresh

fruit, disposables, kitchenware, and fresh milk

deliveries. Our national team of specialists

manage our range of coffee machines offering

instant, bean to cup, and barista coffee, with

flexible contract options and an agreed service

schedule.

Furniture This category has grown from selling basic

chairs and desks, to a comprehensive interiors

solution for new builds and office upgrades. Our

team comprises a dedicated Furniture Helpdesk,

local Specialists in all regions, and a National

Project Specialist for collaboration with

designers and architects. We offer a flexible

service including on-site visits, measuring, 2D

and 3D drawings, colour swatches, core range

catalogues, and expert consultation. We can

develop custom showrooms to showcase

specific themes, and invite customers to any of

the existing showrooms at our 16 retail shops

across NZ. Major clients include Metroglass,

Sky TV, Fonterra, and Fletchers.

Brand Solutions To be your complete brand solutions provider,

supporting our customers from concept through

to delivery, acting as your brand champion.

Building on considerable growth in recent years,

Brand Solutions category has expanded as we

have employed industry experts and diversified

our offer. Utilising our online procurement

solutions tool we manage a wide range of

suppliers and leverage our significant buying

power to consolidate customers’ supply chains

and deliver innovative brand solutions.

We can stock items specific to you for

nationwide next-day delivery, and our user-

friendly online portal allows for strict brand

controls, instant online proofing, and digital

asset management. Key customers include

Fisher & Paykel Appliances, St John, and PGG

Wrightson.

Technology OfficeMax supply a wide range of ICT

consumables including Inks/Toners, Monitors &

Arms, Computer Peripherals, Data Storage,

Apple Devices, Phones & Headsets, Projectors,

Laptops, Tablets, Software, and Computer

Hardware. We provide full implementation

support including install, wiring, testing, and

training nationwide. Top clients for this category

include Best Start Educare, Vitaco, and

Manukau Institute of Technology.

Community programs Max e-Grants

Developed with Barnardos and supported by generous supplier sponsors, Max e-Grants provides grants of up to $5,000 for disadvantaged Kiwi children for basics such as uniforms, stationery and school trips.

0800 What’s Up OfficeMax are proud to be official sponsors of 0800 What’s Up, a free counselling helpline and web-chat

service for kids to talk confidentially to trained counsellors, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The

counsellors work with the caller and other agencies like the Police and the Ministry for Children.

School Rewards OfficeMax’s School Rewards’ programme is our way showing our

appreciation for the orders school’s parents place. In the last

twelve years a record $4.8 million in School Rewards has been

raised. OfficeMax contributed more than $817,000 from the

2017/18 Back to School season alone, with schools reporting that

rewards are often used for technology and new furniture as well as

sporting equipment and other teaching resources.
